LIVE THREAD White House Correspondent's Dinner 9:30pm
Posted on 05/04/2002 5:13:56 PM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs
The WHCA represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues.
A nine-member board of directors, elected by correspondents, addresses access to the chief executive; coverage arrangements; work space arrangements; logistics and costs for press travel to accompany a president on the road.
The WHCA also holds an annual dinner. The 2002 dinner will be held on May 4 at 9:30pm on C-Span. Drew Carey is the featured entertainment.

Sorry about the double post there.
Welll, the reviews are in (at least mine) and the President was the best thing about the whole show. Another adorable performance.

I want to take up a collection to get some of those women a 3 way mirror. I am sure if they saw themselves from the back they would have rethought the outfit. I am amazed at the tension strength on some of those zippers.

drew is a bush supporter. this is a hard gig, the talent must walk a very fine line, so considering the circumstances he did fine. the worst ever is garrison keiller(sp?)who was drooling over clinton and bashing the house managers.

He's a Bush supporter???!!! He's a self-described libertarian. He's definitely not a liberal.
Didn't you just love it when he told the DemocRATs that they lost the election - get over it - and the C-SPAN camera focused on an unsmiling Carville??? Priceless!

I agree -- "Dubya" was wonderful -- great timing and he didn't even try to "ham it up" or make himeself the star -- that Barney pic by the window was fabulous, and the "peep-hole" pics were great -- esp. the one of Dick Cheney

Alex's 6 year old sister reminds us everyday, "Ozzy rules!". His mom is thrilled she prefers Ozzy over In Sync or something else as vomitous as them.

Oh my goodness, how great was that! My husband watched it with me - the first time ever that he has sat through an entire political ANYTHING!
Without reading previous replies, I'll say the following:
President Bush was hilarious.
Helen Thomas forgot her ex-lax, as did James Carvile.
Drew Cary surprised me. He was actually rather charming.
Did I mention that helen thomas and james carvile forgot their ex-lax?
I can't wait to read the thread!

I had to put Barney on as my wallpaper - just too precious to pass up.

They were MISERABLE, weren't they?
It sort of makes up for the eight dinners WE had to watch and were so miserable, doesn't it? :-)

President Bush was fabulous......best humorist in the house. I loved the picture in the Oval Office of their trying out the whoopie cushion for Senator Byrd!
REPEAT at 11PM tonight!
