Veterans Town Hall Meeting: 4th Congressional District Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Decatur, is sponsoring a Town Hall meeting with local veterans May 18 at 1 p.m. at the Decatur Library Auditorium, 215 Sycamore St., Decatur. Ms. McKinney's district includes all of DeKalb County.
Information: (404) 377-6900
Ms. McKinney has a screw-loose somewhere.
What do you guys think about starting a new thread, or change the title of this one to include 'freep' and the date to get more attention for this?
I'm not 'in charge' of this freep, VC, so I'm pinging FreedomPoster and RobFromGa who seem to be the head honchos.
Fellas, what do you think about VC's question? I'm just wondering if the Demo-rat might back out if she is tipped off about our 'welcoming committee.' hehehehehe But, if Boortz did air this, we may get a lot bigger crowd and exposure for FR.
Sounds like a great idea. Title ideas: "GA Freepers- "Let's Put McKinney In a Burqua and Ship Her Home"- 5/18/02" Other ideas?
One sign idea "Maybe If We Investigated McKinney's Brain We'd Find an Empty Hole".
Another "It's Not Because You're Black, It's Because You're Stupid". Let's get our brain cells working on ideas.
"Ten Million Saudi Bucks is Chickenfeed for a Real Race Warlord"
Let's wait till next week to think about Boortz notification/involvement. He'll probably see it on FR anyway. If it gets big at all she'll probably run.
Has anyone confirmed McKinney will show up recently?
Does anyone know the area well? Best place to set up?
We likely need a permit, any Decatur residents up for that?
I was just thinking about putting something on the Georgia page about this. But I think I'll do that after Rob starts the new thread. For the title just make sure you get "McKinney" "freep" and the date in it so readers will be clued in to what the thread's about.
Let's wait on the new thread till we hear what "Be not afraid!" finds out tomorrow from the Rat's office.
BNA, I hope your tetanus shots are up to date before you enter the Rat's nest. hehehehe
I'll start a new thread after we hear from BNA, and hopefully I'll hear from the VFW today as well. I sent a long detailed email to the GA HQ last night; will try to call the local halls today as well.
I recommend we hold off on calling Boortz until middle of next week. This event was published in the newspaper, if she backed out it would show her true stripes.
Rob: More brainstorming on signs like that is needed; I'm terrible at that sort of thing. Everyone else pitch in here.
Confirmed (we're gonna really razz you if you back out!):

I know I've seen a document on etiquette and behavior during a FReep, and I'm thinking it was from the DC FReepers; you are just so experienced at this stuff. Do any of y'all know what I'm talking about? Any other suggestions to offer?
Atlanta FReepers - see this thread for an excellent report of a well-executed FReep. Just don't have any coffee in your mouth when you see the pix of 'pod - you'll be cleaning it off of your monitor and keyboard.
A permit is required for a freep in Decatur. I am waiting to hear from Public Safety to get the details. When I know more I will let ya'll know.
If there are media there, be sure to give interviews to them about why you are there. Use articulate spokesmen. It has to be more than "McKinney is Stupid." Maybe something like "Ms. McKinney has intimated that W. has had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attack without any proof or supporting evidence to back it up. We would like to ask Ms. McKinney if she is familiar with libel laws and also why she is not more grateful to a country that permits her to have a ridiculously drawn congressional district just so she is assured a seat in congress."
IOW, have your facts and issues ready to go so you have a better chance of getting your filmed face on the one-eyed monster.
Also, be prepared to give a short summary about FR, what it is, what it stands for, and effects that FR has had on current events.
