OS ANGELES, April 30 Parents demanded the resignation of an official at a suburban San Diego high school today after reports that she lifted girl's skirts in front of male students and faculty members, checking for inappropriate underwear before a dance on Friday.
Students at Rancho Bernardo High School said the vice principal, Rita Wilson, was screening girls to assure they were not wearing thong underwear. There were also reports that girls were made to undress partly if Ms. Wilson or other faculty suspected that they were not wearing bras.
"Some of these girls are just devastated," said Kim Teal, the parent of a 15-year-old sophomore at the school.
Ms. Teal said one parent called her to report that a teacher had pulled a girl's top to see if she was wearing a bra.
Ms. Wilson and the principal, Paul Gentle, did not return phone calls.
Ms. Teal said that when she confronted Ms. Wilson about the incident, she played down the situation, saying she had wanted to ensure that bottoms were adequately covered at the dance, attended by nearly 700 students.
The theme for the party was "Blast from the Past," and boys wearing toga outfits were also asked about their underwear or checked for it. Tube tops and halter tops are banned at the school.
Ms. Teal said her daughter told her of the screening, which she said occurred in front of boys, teachers and police officers at the door. Her daughter was allowed to enter the dance after declaring that she was not wearing a thong, her mother said.
"After awhile the girls finally got the idea that they shouldn't say thong when they were asked, even though that's all they wear now," Ms. Teal said. "They won't be caught dead in regular underwear.
Parents met with the principal today, but no action was taken, they said. The parents have given the principal until Friday to take action on their request for Ms. Wilson's resignation and said they intended to file a complaints with the American Civil Liberties Union.
"She was at school today and that infuriated us all," Ms. Teal said. "We just believe she has very much overstepped her boundaries and violated too many of the student's civil rights."

Good for Principal Rita Wilson!!! I hope she tells the brainless mothers and fathers of these poor girls that wearing thongs and dressing like street prostitutes won't be tolerated while she's the Principal. The students have started a fad and think it's cool for the girls to not wear bras and to wear thong underwear that reveal all during dance numbers. I guess when these attorney mothers get this principled Principal fired and run out of town, their precious daughters can celebrate by wearing no panties at all during their dance performances and give plenty of "money shots" of their sweet beavers.

I don't understand why someone would want to wear an item of clothing which guarantees a wedgee. Can't be very comfortable.

If they have a policy, that's one thing. To expose the girls like that with young men present defeats the whole effort Wilson is trying to implement. Wilson amounts to nothing less than a sexual preditor for her amazingly poor common sense. If those boys would have pulled the girls skirts up to look at their crotches, the police would have been called. But if some dumb a-- school official does it, it's a-okay. Bull s--t!

This is another no win situation. If the chaperones allowed the thongs and the accompanying flashing during the dance, the parents would be outraged and there'd be a group of freepers calling for a freep of the school, resignations, and assure us that private and homeschools cure all ills.
Now an administrator catches some girls with thongs or improper undies for the dance and what will we see? Parents are outraged and there's be a group of freepers calling for a freep of the school, resignations, and assure us that private and homeschools cure all ills.

It's just gonna make the dances more popular for the boys.

If you're going to expand it, EXPAND IT !!! |

If a schoool wants to discourage girls from flashing their thongs - punish those girls who do. The right to privacy should be extended to everyone ( including children) if they have not done anything wrong.....That's the American way.

LOL, yeah, I guess so!

I invision the boys on one side of the hall, and the girl's underwear being exposed on the other side. The boys all have rating cards in their hands...

Looks like another KLINTOON legacy. I think he & Monica started this thong craze.
We will be paying for his sorry legacy for a long time, in ways we haven't discovered yet.
