Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I loved the part where he said his parents were big Democrats and the President occasionally asked, "Have I got your mother yet?"

That just cracked me up! My mother is a die-hard Dem - and when Leno asked Ari if his parents were proud - with his answer "no, they're horrified!" I was rolling. Cute appearance and I just thought it was a cute pic. :)

Who was Ford's Vice President and with whom did he run for President? I could have sworn he ran with Dole but for the life of me, I can't remember who his VP was while he was in office.

I think Ford's health is starting to fail. He had a stroke during the Republican convention.

I noticed that whenever they have something with all the living past presidents they always exclude Ford. Why is that?

Well he didn't do anything big or anything bad .. he was just there ..

Can you even imagine 500 people standing on one (1) acre of ground? Just think about it - how could you possibly house 500 people on 1 acre of ground, unless there were at least 10 people in a unit, and that unit had better not be much bigger than 1 bedroom. The Sierra Club members are nutso!

I really am worried about that Jeffords bill with the feds taking over local zoning. Communities would lose control of their zoning and that would severely impinge on their taxing ability, governing ability, etc. And, if they are able to pass the zoning bill they won't stop there!

The West Wing series had a really awful story about how hard it is to be President, and they had comments from former Presidents and White House staffers interspersed with old scenes from TWW. President Ford made some comments. But although I didn't see half of this one, former President Bush didn't seem to have participated, nor a lot of former Republican staffers.
