Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I want thank you for the selection of the first picture you begin each "day in the life".
This photograph always sets the tone for the remainder of your photos.

**Did you know those bags were empty? It was just for show. Ha! **
Are you serious?

Then he said this: "it's more than GOOD INTENTIONS, its GOOD RESULTS."Another one of the best lines of the speech!
I can't help but think of the value of President Bush's CEO, MBA mentality that says, if it doesn't work toss it, and don't keep throwing money at something that doesn't show results.
It's such an antiRAT mentality, isn't it??
To: homeschool mama
Absolutely. I know I read this somewhere in a discussion of image-making and the White House.

My mom used to be a diehard Dem too. She started her redemption in 1968 and was fully redeemed by 1976.
During the election fiasco, whenever they would drag that Daley character out, I would get so furious. I sent my mother a blistering email saying, "I hope you are now ashamed that you were ever, ever associated with this party!" My Dad was, of course, laughing his head off and my mom calls me on the phone. She says, "now, there are some good Democrats." I yelled, "oh yeah, WHO? Name me one?" What did she say? "Harry Truman!" I said, "oh great, Mom; that was 50 years ago." We still get a big kick out of that conversation.

The night Clinton was elected for the second time, I felt...well, I felt SOMEWHAT like the day my husband suddenly died--shock, grief! I kept trying to fight it off, but it kept coming back to grab me. Finally, I told my son, "Just wait! Some day this man will be impeached." I didn't know it would be so soon. Then I went to a site with Clinton jokes and laughed my head off. Comic relief! The one I remember the most was What do you get when you combine a dishonest lawyer with a rapist. The answer was Chelsea.

Ari was a hoot especially when Leno asked him about Helen Thomas. Ari made his point how Helen is 82, a staunch democrat who still believed that Gore won. Yet Ari was able to say that Helen reminded him of his mom who happens to be a die hard democrat. Ari joked that the president asked him if he (GWB) had yet turned Ari's mother around to his side. The answer was no.

It's such an antiRAT mentality, isn't it?? Oh, come now. Just how naive are you? You surely must know that there isn't any difference between Bush and Gore? (/sarcasm)
Just thought you'd like some of that old Bushbashin' talk. LOL!

I lost 10 pounds that month. Ack! And my family is divided half-and-half politically, so it was a VERY subdued Thanksgiving. (Clinton and Gore ruined almost every holiday for several years, but that was the last straw!) If you go back and look at current events, you notice that a lot of bad things always happened around holidays...Elian and Easter, for example. I swear they were trying to destroy the country's morale.

HSM, Whatever did I get started here? I should not have mentioned Carter! If you ask me I'd say they think him worse than Clinton!
Note to self: Never mention Carter on this thread!LOL.

Post 166, Ooooooooh, an Ari picture. Yes, we watched the Leno show to see Ari. He's mum about his fiance except the wedding will be in Indiannapolis in the Fall and they met in the White House.
I loved the part where he said his parents were big Democrats and the President occasionally asked, "Have I got your mother yet?"
To: Miss Marple
Ha! I lost 12! And if I had had such an adversion to drinking as I did to eating, I probably would have lost 20!! It was the most effective diet I have ever been on.

I'd like to read THE book also. But I certainly don't want to put any more money in the authors pocket. How do I get on the list?
