This morning, Jim Quinn, host of "The War Room" (WRRK 96.9 FM Pittsburgh & warroom.com) played an audio tape made at Cleveland Center (flight control) on the morning of 9-11. To protect his source, Quinn would not say who gave it to him, but it apparently is genuine.
The tape starts with Cleveland Center attempting to reach the crew of Flight 93, as they were in Cleveland's zone at the time. Heard is Cleveland speaking to other pilots who state they had overheard "yelling" and "screaming" over the airwaves. Other pilots visually help verify Flight 93's position because the hijackers have not responded to Cleveland.
Then, a hijacker, speaking very rapidly, tells Cleveland that there is a bomb on board. Pilots in the air confirm that they heard the statement about the bomb, and that Flight 93 had turned and headed back east. The hijacker comes back on the air and again repeats that there is a bomb on the plane.

Excerpt below from this article:
Model for air travel security may be El Al
September 26, 2001 Posted: 11:31 PM EDT (0331 GMT)
By contrast, El Al planes are heavily guarded 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even during cleaning and maintenance. All El Al pilots are veterans of the Israeli air force and are trained in handling weapons and in hand-to-hand combat.
They do not, however, carry guns in the cockpit.
The cockpit has bulletproof doors activated by a keypad from inside the cockpit.
Entire article is here:

I've read several pieces that say El Al pilots are armed, and I've read just as many saying they're not. Maybe they like to keep folks guessing?

Heard this awhile back on television - still pisses me off to hear it.

Thanks for posting. Even if you don't listen to the tape it is important to remember that there are people who HAD to listen to this bastard telling them they had a bomb on board. The traffic control employees make a living keeping planes and our skies safe. My heart goes out to them knowing they were unable to prevent this tradgedy. This they have to live with for the rest of their lives.
Yes I am a man and I did tear up listening to that song because I hope the day never comes that I have to kiss my wife goodbye and never see her again. Sure we will all die someday but not like that and not so sudden.
God bless everyone involved in helping keep the skies safe!

My gawd I've never heard the song "She Kissed a Hero" before and it certainly took a toll on my emotions. Did you find the tape a little difficult to understand because of the fast pace it was played at or was it just my computer?

It's located at AirDisaster.Com as a .wav file.

There certainly were at least two bombs aboard the aircraft. They were what people in the business refer to as "fuel tanks"....
