Our Friend and fellow Freeper Budge Rhae has had an accident. He fell at work Tuesday, and compressed his L-1 Vertebrae. I'm sure my dear friend won't mind me posting a part of his e-mail to me.

"I fell at work last Tuesday and now have a compressed vertebre(?) at L1. I have to wear a brace, use a walker, and I am as depressed as I have ever been. Can't even eat, feel like everything is going to stick in my throat."

Oue Budge is a dear dear friend to many here at FreeRepublic. He could use some prayers and encouragement. Years ago, I fractured L-1 and L-2. What he is going through isn't fun. And your prayers and words of friendship will be greatly appreciated.

Many of you probably know him from the many FR get-togethers.

I can only get one of my pics to post.. it is the one of Budge and JimRob. I have a really cool one of our handsome Budge with Dolly Kyle Browning, I'm going to keep trying to post that one. You can see what a doll face he is. Please Ping this to all who I have forgotten. I don't keep a Ping List.

OK BUDGE.. lets clarify here a bit. COMPRESSED is like Broken, as there are lines (cracks) in the x-ray.. but not clear breaks. Is that what you mean?

That is why your having to wear a brace for so long.

The bruises are there too.. and perhaps there was bruising to the spinal column (?) and no cracks. Either way.. wearing the lovely little brace is important (and fun..right??) :o)

I know all the techincal stuff is hard to explain. I'm just trying to clear it up here.

I think you're a very lucky man(even if terribly sore). I'm wondering if the pain on your leg is "nerve"? I had that.. and it can also be numbness. Rub your leg to see if there are numb spots. BADJOE and I both have that.

Have you considered taking your chair to work?? It would be the best thing to do you know. You will not suffer so much for having worked those 4 hours that way. Walmart is an amazing company to work for. They are so great to you!!! Makes me very happy!

I know what you mean about not making many posts. I usually stay out of the real deep political conversations and usually post on the more personal threads, but I LOVE to read just about everything. I guess you could say that I'm more into lurking and mainly freeping polls and putting in my two cents when ABSOLUTELY necessary. LOL. Anyway, I'm so glad to hear that Budge is better and on his way to recovery. God's love and healing never ceases to amaze me.

Hi everyone,

I want to say THANK YOU to those who contributed to the purchase of the chair I'm getting.

Once again, I feel at a loss for the right words. I have checked this thread throughout the day, and my eyes have been leaking all day!!

My Pastor always tells us that if we keep the faith, God will "Bless our socks off", and Bless my socks off he did!!! Through all of you, I have been totally blessed!!
