Our Friend and fellow Freeper Budge Rhae has had an accident. He fell at work Tuesday, and compressed his L-1 Vertebrae. I'm sure my dear friend won't mind me posting a part of his e-mail to me.
"I fell at work last Tuesday and now have a compressed vertebre(?) at L1. I have to wear a brace, use a walker, and I am as depressed as I have ever been. Can't even eat, feel like everything is going to stick in my throat."
Oue Budge is a dear dear friend to many here at FreeRepublic. He could use some prayers and encouragement. Years ago, I fractured L-1 and L-2. What he is going through isn't fun. And your prayers and words of friendship will be greatly appreciated.
Many of you probably know him from the many FR get-togethers.
I can only get one of my pics to post.. it is the one of Budge and JimRob. I have a really cool one of our handsome Budge with Dolly Kyle Browning, I'm going to keep trying to post that one. You can see what a doll face he is. Please Ping this to all who I have forgotten. I don't keep a Ping List.
I love you Budge.. hang tight my friend. Prayers are on the way. I've already started.... GOD BLESS YOU BUDGE,..AND MAY HE HEAL YOU QUICKLY, I ASK THIS IN HIS SON'S NAME, JESUS CHRIST!!

Brown's Beat - Ottawa Citizen Wed., June 15, 1994 Four tires, four legs equal traffic jam.
For almost 50 minutes June 4, busy Saturday afternoon traffic was snarled at the railway overpass on Richmond Road at Bells Corners, as Nepean's fire and police services worked at a problem.
As cars crawled by the scene, people gawked and were waived along without answers. What was wrong with the little silver Mazda truck with its motor hood raised? Why were two women, obviously from the truck, huddled together? Were they laughing or crying?
And now...(drum roll)...the answer.
Belinda White of Nepean was driving along about 3 p.m. when a groundhog dashed out onto the roadway. She screeched to a stop and avoided hitting it, but the groundhog was frightened. Looking for a place to hide, it dashed under the truck and crawled up into the motor. With the help of passenger/sister, Suzannne Nielsen, attempts were made to get the critter out. No luck.
My prayers are with you.
'Electronic'geezers must stick together.
God bless you, Budge!
"He had wedged himself(the sex was guesswork) in, low down, and all we could see was his bum," said Nielsen. "He wouldn't move." Then they started making calls for help. Fire department accepted the call and a truck was sent --a big one with a cherry picker.
Nielsen: "Three firefighters in full gear sat in the truck looking down at us, shaking their heads and grinning. Then they got out and tried to solve the groundhog problem. They had a big pike pole and they could push, but he just moved to other spots still in the workings of the truck."
A police car stopped to check things out, and helped keep traffic moving around the stopped vehicles. By then, the two women were huddled together laughing.
After more than half an hour of unsuccessful poking and prodding, Nielsen turned to expert help. She's a volunteer at Nepean's Wild Bird Care Centre and called there, to see if centre founder Kathy Nihei had any suggestions. Her expertise is in birds but Nielsen knew she could help.
Nihei drove up minutes later, stepped out of her car, walked over to the open motor hood of the truck, and poured a jar of water on the only exposed portion of the groundhog's anatomy: the bum.
"He really zoomed out of there," Nielsen reported. "He headed for the tall grass so fast he tripped over the curb. It was my turn to grin at the firefighters. One of them shrugged, laughed and said: "Hey, we've never been called to put out a groundhog before!"
The end.
To think.. WATER!!!! LOL
I love how the firemen said they weren't used to "putting out groundhogs!!" ;o)
I could just see the girls laughing, I would have been on the ground!!
Thanks for the chuckles friend!!!
I so agree!!!! "There but for the Grace of God go I..."
The Budge'ster and I had a nice long phone conversation yesterday ;o)
Rainy (his "sweet"heart) is making sure he is on schedule now. Much better pain control that way. Plus he called his doc,..and they deleted one med.
Then there is the support of everyone here..and I can tell you it means THE WORLD to him. He may not be able to sit for long, at least not long enough to answer all these.. but he does get in to read them. And I can ASSURE everyone.. they have made a HUGE difference. Sitting won't be fun for a while, But Dr. Phillips (Aka BADJOE) has sent him a chair for people with back injuries like Budges. (In fact, I'm so impressed with it.. I just bought one!!)
FReepers are an amazing group of people. Good DECENT caring people!!!
Love and prayers do lift people up!!
BTW.. I worked OB-Gyn and Maternity..and your name here "STD" is bringing back some fond memories :o)
Do you work in either field?
I hope today is a better day!!!! You are in our prayers EVERY day!!!!! Love you guys!!!!
