"Pro-gun-rights activists in California are crediting their constituents with helping defeat a state Assembly bill..."

Always a force to be reckoned with....

Yep this bill went down, but lets not forget that ALL of the A2 groups pitched in on this ugly piece of legislation.

I know my good friends at Gun Owners of CA were all over this from day one.

This is what happens when we all work together toward a common goal. Ain't it sweet?

"laws passed and accepted by the people of California often form the basis of national laws. …"

Yep. And look at the mess this country is in now. Not only the political mess, but the moral mess as well. It's costing American taxpayers a fortune !! I feel sorry for the sane people living in Ca.

Yeah!!!

Second Amendment Bump.

PS: As a long time resident of the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, I am amazed at this outcome. Over the past two years, a demoncrat-dominated government has brought forward one repressive, unconstitutional bill after another. Dim one Davis (the governor) has signed many of them, whilst simultaneously running the state into financial bankrupcy (but that's another story).

Anyway, Kudos to those who pressured their representatives!

I read that this didn't make it out of committee because Gray Davis wouldn't sign it.

What that says I'm not sure. Most likely it means Davis is really worried about pissing gun owners off anymore (read, Simon's base) than he already has.

He probably believes that gun owners in CA need to get more comfortable with their current level of being punked out by the state.

Maybe I'll have to drop those kite plans for you Travis.

Don't kid yourself. This ban will be back on the committee agenda and it will be passed if Davis is re-elected.
