I wish there was a camera on in a Arab street so we could watch them singing and dancing with joy.

Some witnesses have reported seeing gas being brought into the building prior to the explosion. There is going to be more legislation in NY on the handling of gas/containers, I can see it now.

"Me too - I work 6 blocks away. For about 10 min it was nothing but sirens." I can imagine that gives you a scare at work! I imagine alot of New Yorkers had a feeling of dread at first.....
My first reaction was fear too, before I knew anything, just a building expolsion....and quick thinking to remember my husband isn't in the city today.

"Some witnesses have reported seeing gas being brought into the building prior to the explosion."What kind of gas? Regular gasoline?? Wouldn't that be a little odd??

Okay, it may not be "far" but in local terms you can't really call it "close" either. Close is something you can walk to in ten minutes.

Report the news YES .. scare the daylights out of people NOHoward Stern used to nail these folks on letting just anybody get on the air by phone to report what's going on.
During the O.J. mess after the chase, he had one of his guys call in and get on Peter Jennings saying he was just across the street..and he "could see OJ". heh heh. They never caught on till he said "oh yeah, and Bababooey, ya'll"..
Another was the night Dianna died. He had a guy call in one of the stations saying he worked for one one of the news companies. He said he understood that she was driving so fast so she could get to the movie-store to rent a copy of Private Parts before they closed.

"I wouldn't discount the possibility that it was an O2 tank, either. " Most accounts I hear are saying it's a BOILER EXPLOSION (and had nothing to do with the nearby technical school)

I can imagine that gives you a scare at work! I imagine alot of New Yorkers had a feeling of dread at first..... More so for my wife who worked across the street from the WTC and had the displeasure of fleeing from collapsing buildings on 9/11.

I have to say these cable new stations REALLY need to get their act together They want to be the first to scare the public, I mean report a story. That's what it comes down to. Whoever gets the first scoop wins the ratings for that time period.

Boilers would be in the basement - large explosion on any higher floor would require something very powerful or in large volume - I would guess powerful/
