"First, if one of them was found, Vietnam would be held accountable by the American people...that isn't going to happen."

In Oct 2001 Viet Nam trade restrictions were lifted by the House and Senate and President Bush.
Instead of demanding a FULL accounting of POW/MIA's Viet Nam was given a "free pass" to trade with us.
Even though none may still be alive we owe it to at least let their next of kin know their fate.

Hmmm.....makes who wonder who is on whose side. This does not sound any better to me then when Clinton attempted to do the same thing. Thanks to all of those who never forgot and never gave up. :)

I don't think that I would be flying the American flag every day if it was my son that
Congress had abandoned over there.

Just a guess...but maybe they've been quietly living the WHOLE of that famous old
slogan that got thrown around in the 1960s:

"My country, right or wrong!"
(and usually left out was the rest of the historical quote)
"And when in the wrong, to be put right!"

Sadly, there will probably be things about what happened in Vietnam that will
never be put right.

Thank you Snow Bunny for remembering the Pows. I still have my POW bracelet that I wore for a few years. I will never forget the thrill of watching him get off that plane when some of them came home years ago!
I lost childhood friends in Nam, and have two dear friends who will never be the same. They have post traumatic stress syndrome after both served in Da Nang at a station hospital. Saw too much there.
I pray that our guys left behind are still alive, and they know that there are still many who think of them.
