Yes, they do have big plans. Sick plans. Plans for oppression and starvation if they get away what they want. But, yes, they do forget - or simply ignore - or have rejected - the fact that there is a God in heaven who is actually the One in charge of things. It's our job to help as many as we can to discover the One who holds the future of this world - and our lives - in the palm of His hand. And this One, who knows the end from the beginning, has sent his Son the first time to bring all who call upon Him in faith eternal life - beginning NOW. The second time His Son comes into the world, it will not be as the lamb of God willingly submitting to his Father's will die for us. He has dies once for all. The next time He comes, He will be coming as the Lion of Judah, the Reigning King, at whose name every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings! This is the "blessed hope" with which we are to encourage one another.

So when the darkness seems to thicken and gather all around us in this world, let us encourage each other with these words of hope!
