Received two cell calls from Dave. The stage is set. The flags are waving. The weather is great. They're ready to Roll! Around 0945 the crowd was 50+ including Kristinn, sauropod, Leadpenny, Angelwood, Exit 148, GoreWarVet, Dutchy, Congressman Billy Bob, Black Agnes, TaxMan, TGSL DeComa, WhoKnowsWhatEvil, FireBrand, Country Dummy, Stan Waite, Pro2aMom, 0351Dog. (please pardon any mispelled "names" or omissions. The cell connections were poor).
Around 1015 the crowd was continuing to grow, with some spill over from the Peacenik/anarchist nitwits. Dave reports that it was the port-o-potties that attracted them. But our fearless Freepers labelled the doors "Patriots" and Patriot Women". It seems to be turning them away.
More to follow. Mustang sends from Florida.
While Anarchy is a Bummer, the young'uns instincts are actually well-honed with regards globalization and the IMF...and as these college know-nothings learn about the real world, they'll be marching with us eventually, IMHO.
"Very few Muslims from the pro-Palestinian rally actually came over to where we were, though the Park Police prevented some of those marchers from getting too close to us anyway."
I still don't see Operation Enduring Freedom as anti-Muslim or anti-Palestine and I wonder if non-radicalized American Muslims perceive the same thing.
"There was one guy in his twenties who stopped by. He hadn't taken a stand either way, altho he leaned to the right.(my words) He checked out the different goings-on, liked what he saw in our rally, and wanted to know about Free Republic. I gladly told him how to hookup with us. It's time like that, that really make the day!"
Bingo!! Each Rally I've attended, that's the point when you know the effort was worth it.
FReegards...MUD
Your welcome. No, I did not spot the Tourist Guy. I think the fact that it was a cloudy, overcast day kept him from hiding behind his sunglasses at the Patriot's Rally. ;-)
BINGO! VietVet, you just hit the nail "right on it's head" regarding why all the communist, leftist, anti-war, anti-globilization and other so-called "diverse" causes joined forces with the pro-Palestinian Muslim communities for this weekend's rallies. Without the tens of thousands of Muslims there, they would not have attracted as much media attention as they did.
I think you'll love this eyewitness report :
When I reconoitered through the pro-Palestinian rally that was held directly across the street from the Patriots' one, I saw a small band of gay rights activists prancing through that predominantly Muslim crowd carrying a large sign labeled "Queers against Hate and War." You should have seen the look on some of the Muslim clerics faces as the homosexuals traipsed right passed them. LOL.
Now, I'm only to the posts in the 80's, and I can't wait to find out what else happened at the rally!

"And the group calls themselves PART-RE-ITES."
The guy apparently had never seen the word "Patriots" before! UnFReepin'believable!
Are these the same people complaining of this country's aggressive nature and urging that we, as a nation, give peace a chance? To listen to their hateful rhetoric, I wonder if they clearly HEAR AND UNDERSTAND what they're saying or simply reciting the mantra written by others. The utter disgust and outrage I feel learning of that frightened woman hiding her patriotic T-shirt cannot be put into words.
I did not see the CBS report but I thought that Fox News (channel 8) gave us at least 30 seconds of reporting and said that the other side tried to "crash our rally". They had two interviews but I can't remember who was interviewed. They showed us signing the anthem and we looked great with all of our flags. This was on late last night on the 11pm news. This morning, they didn't show our rally at all.
In San Francisco yesterday, the Communist Terrorist supporters had set up about 15 of those at their rally site.
When I arrived I got in line to use them and noticed that out of the 15, only 2 were unlocked! LOL
There wasn't a very long line, but while I was waiting I was able to talk to some people about what is really going on in Israel...
And when I came out, a couple of people whispered to me tht they agreed with what I had said.
CounterCounterCulture has threatened to post a thread sometime today about the clash in S.F. yesterday ...check for it, we had a very interesting day.
That's because Kristinn and the reporter coordinated their clothes, black suit with blue shirt, only the ties differed. I mentioned it to the reporter and he laughed and said, "I just said the same thing to Kristinn."
Being an old & crusty retired Navy officer, I would have told that hairy arm-pitted female to stand on her head and pee.
It's a 4/for: Stomach wash; Back wash; Lubrication for arm-pit shaving; And saving the Earth as her "precious bodily fluids" flow to the grass.

I'll keep an eye out for it..thanks!
Soooo glad I took the precautions I did!
The poor lady from Florida! I spoke with them for a while, really nice couple, and I loved her shirt!
I took precautions and wore a white shirt with my husband's chiropractic office logo on it, to and from the rally.
I had parked at the New Carrolton Metro Station and took the Metro in to the Federal Triangle and then I walked to the rally site (passed all the "unwashed"). One medical office worker thought that I was too, what with the white shirt and dark blue slacks.
We've taken precautions like that before, when we had the "Bill of Rights Rally" the weekend before the RNC in Philly.
Yes, very, very sad that one has to do that in our great nation's capitol. Even sadder is the fact that it turns out that it was a very necessary precaution!
My eyes might have been deceiving me; but as she was waving her arms around like a windmill, I got the impression that the hair under her arms was moving around on its own, and it wasn't particularly windy at that point in time. EEEEEEWWWWWWW!
I sincerely hope you are feeling better, and I pray for your continued good health!
