What's happened to the daily prayer thread ?

My 70 year old mother has pnemonia.

I am 40 years old. Three years ago, thru a lot of prayer , I managed to get an associates degree in programming. My life has been transformed, because at last my mother is not being worried to death about me.

I have a good job and for the first time in my life I am proud.

This was all thanks to my mother, who put me up and took care of me for three years while I got sober and eventually went to school..

She has heart problems. Angioplasty half way failed, becuse the surgeons couldn't insert the splints that would keep her arteries open. They say her arteries 'spasm' and shut close

This weekend we learned that her most recent 'cold' is pnemonia, ...

She was very stubborn about not going to the doctor, but our family finally bullied her into it.

Folks, I have lost my Dad when he was only 60 and I was 30. I still haven't gotten over it. You can imaine. That was ten years ago. Since then I have become a Bible-believeing failure of a Christian.

When I contemplate losing my my mother, I'm really afraid that I will lose my sanity. She has given me unconditionaol love , all of my life. I am the most spoiled brat but she has always forgiven me.
Please pray. She is only 70 and she is the most cheerful woman you ever met. She is an angel. I can't stand losing her. I swear it will kill me too. I have too much still to prove to her ,,,

Please pray for my mother, who'se cheerfulness has always lightened my life all these years. And pray for me not to be such a coward. Thank you, and blessed be the Savior , Jesus Christ.

I was writng this , thinking I could attatch it to the daily prrayer thread. Truth is, I never participated in these before. I suppose it serves me right since I never particiapated until there was trouble in my life..
According to the FR search engine, the Daily Prayer thred is currently obsolete. Execept those of you in trouble can write on this thread , today.

I'm sorry and I'll pray for your mother's speedy recovery. Now it's time for you to face the fact that since you've received such a blessing from your mom, it's your responsibility to pass it along to someone else as well!

Your mom taught you to be strong. Now use some of that strength to carry on, no matter what!

I was sober for three years, thanks to her unending faith. But when I got my job I stupidly congratulated myself with a drink. I'm astonished at how stupid I've become. I lie, and am so determined that she never learns I am drinking.

Everyone, your prayers carried the day. My mother went back to the hospital (after a lot of resistance) and got a new anti-biotic for her pneumonia. She's mending but it's very slow. She starts to feel better and compulsively starts on household chores, then gets exhausted just climbing stairs.

I'm afraid she might be putting me on, a little, because when I call she answers the phone rather quietly , and then gets perky and tells me how good she feels. Last weekend, twice, I had to call several family members to get them to join me in bullying her to go to the emergency room ("oh, it's just a cold, or allergies")

Still, I am pretty sure that she will be all right. We all understand that it will be weeks before she is feeling 100% but that means she will be enjoying a few mystery novels, and her beau will be waiting on her hand and foot. (My dad became dad-gone 10 years ago. Mom's living in sin, half the week but I'm glad she has a beau.)

Ha, I'm talking too much. Anyway, bless you all for praying for us. I was pretty hysterical when I posted this last week. I'm always upset about something...but this really scared me. I've been with Free Republic long enough to know I can reach out to good people here. You imaginary people are not so imaginary anymore. God bless you all , in the name of the lord, Jesus Christ.
