I hear Gore is chartering a plane down there to demand a recount. The only problem is that the Venezuelan climate is not good at reducing pit stains.
Perhaps this move, with the V.P., is kind of a "wait a minute" step back into the Constitution, whatever it's merits or demerits were.

This new action might be some "second thoughts."

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuela's interim President, Pedro Carmona, said that he was resigning on Saturday, just one day after he took power in a military coup which overthrew populist leader Hugo Chavez.
"With full responsibility before the nation and the Venezuelan people, I present this resignation," Carmona told reporters after a turbulent day in which power slipped from his hands and troops loyal to Chavez seized control of the presidential palace.
Chavez's deputy, Diosdado Cabello, has said that he will temporarily assume the presidency until the reappearance of Chavez, who was taken into military custody following Friday's coup and has since been held incommunicado.
It was not clear whether armed forces chief Gen. Efrain Vasquez, whose support for Carmona had weakened during Saturday, would now back Cabello.
Infuriated Chavez supporters have seized control of at least two Caracas television stations.
Q: Why is South America like a record player?
A: ....
Looks like Chavez' Cuban trained goon-squads and neighborhood watch committees have some power yet. Better buy them off.
You've got to be kidding.
