It is a hypothetical that will never be tested. What IS tested in exploring the hypothetical is different Freeper's perceptions of U.S./Israel interconnectedness(is word?) and subtle and not so subtle anti-Semitic themes and aromas.

Even if I believed that there was an Israeli grip on the US as strong as you suggest (and I DO NOT) i would not voice it here. that I have survived five years on Freerepublic without being banned is no small accomplishment. Even today I got a warning from JR WRT another poster. (he doesn't like me - I 'bother' him)

Opposition to Israeli policies and actions on freerepublic is a dicey endeavor. One 'lives' on the edge.

And I say the US would destroy the Nativity if Israel asked it too.

If the Israelis could get the United States to get those prisoners out of the Church of the Nativity for them, don't you think they would have asked by now?

Or was your post intended to be a joke?

What pro-Pali bias? I am pro-American. President Bush told the Israelis to knock it off. They didn't. If you are not with us, you are against us.

Hmmm...the IDF seriously injures a monk. I write about it. Because I only talk about our client, I'm an anti-semite?

NOT and American in Israel, but just another Israeli seminar disinformation shill. Which is it?

Let me guess. You're an Arab Islamic fascist feinging to be an American but actually you're in a tent in the Saudi desert complete with a gas powered generator so you can hook up your computer and pick at your keys all day bashing Israel.

King Jan Sobieski led the army that turned back the Muslims from the gates of Vienna on September 11, 1683.

You would have been kissing their Islamic feet and welcoming them with open arms.

Let me guess.

OMG! You ARE psychic! I'm glad that I just had my tent repainted. I must look my best for you

I'm the red neck hippie
From out at Gold Hill
I still find life's
A pretty big thrill.
Live in a tent
And cook off a fire
I fix everything
With Bailing wire.

Well I went into town
One fine day
With a pocket full of money
For my bills to pay
I hit ol' Ma Bell
And gave 'er some cash
She smiled at me
Quick as a flash
I crossed the street
And settled with Sears
And hit the pub
For two quick beers.

Well I canvassed the town
a-covering my debts
I still had cash for Cigarettes
When I went on home
Feelin' mighty proud!

Well I grabbed my wife
An I gave 'er a squeeze
She said, Phil,
Excuse me, please
But the mailman just delivered this stack of bills!!!

I said,"honey that can't be so.
I paid 'em not more'n an hour ago
And on top of that I paid 'em th' month before.

Well I grabbed them bill's and I give 'em a fling
I went outside and sat in th' swing and rolled me a joint
'Cuz I'm th' red neck hippie from
Out at gold Hill
I still find life's
A pretty big thrill
I live in a tent
I cook off a fire
I fix everything
With bailin' wire

(Aaaarabs caint do such) ass***e!

It appears that Arafat is going for the PR KO with this little action (does anyone doubt that he ordered those in the church to start this the moment he heard that Powell had accepted his little half-statement/feint?)

Now he can get the giant PR boost (especially in fortifying his status amongst his own people) from the U.S. playing supplicant to him plus he can get the European Roman Catholics stirred up against Israel by torching the church (and Europe is already blaming Israel for Palestinian murders holing up there). Beautiful. Master of the Big Lie.

He's playing us like a Stradivarius.

But haven't you heard? Already on day one, a PLO policeman named Samir called from inside the church, insisting that all the terrorists' ammunition was used up. And Pali policemen never lie!

I believe that President Bush has been telling the Israeis to knock it off the same way that Arafat has been telling the terrorists to knock it off. Turn about is fair play.

I agree with Phil. There is no way Israel would ask us to, and it is Israel's call.

If it were only our call the terrorists would already have surrendered, like their friends did when the Israelis threatened to "start fighting like Americans". We have credibility about using massive firepower and **** the hostages.

The Israelis don't because they're Jewish. But they'll get over that.

It would be sad but fortunately it won't happen. The Israelis won't do it. IMO they'll need to clear out everyone within about a mile of the place if they intend to save the hostages.

You are right. Jordan renamed it the west bank to try to destroy any Jewish right or connection to the land. It was formally known as the countries of Judea and Samaria. Anybody remember those?

Oh vote fraud one, did you not know that the four monks reported that they were held at gunpoint against their will by the Moslem Terrorists inside the church, once they were safely out of range? Or did you "forget" that inconvenient point?

His plan is to cry, moan and groan about the mistreatment of the 200 gun totin church holders and increase foreign aid so they can buy school books.

The Franciscan Father General in Rome has released several statements saying that contrary to Israeli spin, there are no hostages...The idea that they were hostages came from the Israeli press and has been refuted by the Franciscans time and again.

Man, some people are downright stiff upstairs. You don't think that the 200 Moslems who blew down the door to the church were just wanting to show their nice shiny AK47's to the priest and nuns and line up for baptisms do you? Ah, they were tourists and just favor guns over camaras, er, They heard the good Father had a bat problem in his bellfry and all rushed over with their machineguns to help the poor priests out. You think perhaps the Franciscans might just want to keep the Priests and Nuns alive? If they put out one unfavorable report those people are dead and the church is gone. Perhaps not today, but Arafat has a very long memory. The 4 monks that got out had quite the different story, but why believe them, they are only eye witnesses and ex-hostages.
