[history]
The sky won't fall in Araby. Entrenched regimes, which have mastered precious little save the art of staying in power, will not be stampeded by the crowds who chant in support of Yasser Arafat. This is not a "crisis" of American foreign policy playing out in Ramallah, and reverberating in Amman, Cairo and Beirut.

Try to chill out. I believe, like others, that the real dealing is going on behind the scenes. Expect the old Michael Corleone "today we settle all family business" scenario to be played out in the not to distant future. Bush is essentially spending a little political capitol to completely de-legitimize Arafat, and expose to the American public that these Jihadist are a threat that MUST be dealt with. If he can do this, which I believe he can, and we successfully deal with them, we will reaffirm to ourselves, and the whole world, that freedom loving people will summarily kick the piss out of anyone who threatens us.

I have zip sympathy for most Palestinians. They teach their children to hate and kill Jews. Their children mean very little to them, except as a potential suicide bomber so they can brag and collect money for the " child sacrifice." They do not want peace. They want the total destruction of Israel. They revere evil leaders like Arafat and praise Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. They danced in the streets celebrating the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon. They have made their bed and must lie in it. They dance on their own graves each and every time that they cheer homicidal bombers, burn American flags and revel in the deaths of 9/11. There will be no peace until their terrorist-loving leaders and followers are dead.
Where are the peace-loving Palestinians who would rather live side by side with the Israeli rather than live in fear of Arafat's goons? Dead or kept silent by the threat of LYING, ISLAMIC FANATICS whose culture and religion wage bloody jihad in order to attain glory and an orgy in paradise. And, please, spare me the pathetic excuse that their humiliation has caused them to hate and kill. If they and their leaders had pulled a Ghandi, I might have had some sympathy and given a hang about their "self-esteem." Too late for that. Their lies, murders, and hate have hardened my heart. They are untrustworthy. Go Israel! If what the Palestinians call "freedom-fighting" were happening on US soil, you can bet that I would want my government to do the same as Israel is doing now--only much, much more forcefully!

In the Arab world that beckons American power and hectors it at the same time...The Arab world as a rebellious teenager, challenging the U.S. father to tame him, and terrified he won't bring discipline. I don't like this analogy, but it may apply. Doesn't mean we have tofollow their script, though.

I read somewhere that Ajami has had threats against him by members of the religion of peace. If most Arab/Muslims were as thoughtful as he appears to be, they wouldn't be in this mess. It ain't all the Jews fault as much as the Muslim world tries to make it out to be. Taqquiyah-talkers. I have a hard time believing a lot of what most Arabs claim because they LIE so dang much. Even when they get caught in their lies, they continue to tell fibs. Well, I guess that many of them believe that Americans are gullible or they are just following the Koran which OK's deceiving the infidels in order to achieve their goals...

provocatively visited the Temple MountOh, what a heinous crime that was--visiting the Temple Mount.</sarcasm>
The history of Islam and the Arabs is one bloody mess after another. Most of the violent conflicts in the world today all involve Muslims--Kashmir, India, Phillipines, Chad, Somalia, Chechnya, Israel, Afghanistan. Israel has a right to protect itself. Peace will only come to Israel when the bloody terrorist Arafat is defeated.

Ah, newbies and pro-Palestinian. You're pretty well organized but we haven't yet gone "through the looking glass."

Sharon was elected to deal with the terror attacks which Barak failed to deal with. The intifada was planned before Sharon made his trip to the Temple Mount.
If the Palestinians had made their deal with Barak, they wouldn't have gotten Sharon.
Go spread your lies elswhere.

What disruptor planet did you drop from ?
Polls show that the Palestinians have very low support in this, MY country. American diplomacy is supporting the wishes of the American public.
There have long been ways out of the occupation for the Palestinians.
They must like the humiliation or they would have given up the terror.

What is provacative about a citizen visiting a religious shrine ? What, the Palestinians can't deal with it without getting hysterical ? Normalization should mean that anyone can visit holy sites without it giving excuse for homocidal bloodletting.
The reponse of the Palestinians merely shows that they are a people incapable of living as citizens without heavy constraints to keep them from going rabid.
