Bush to delete Clinton's signature from the list

THE Bush administration plans to delete President Clinton's signature from the treaty setting up the International Criminal Court, which it believes could lead to show trials of US servicemen.

"We will take the steps that we believe are necessary to ensure that we are divorced from this process," said Pierre-Richard Prosper, US ambassador at large for war crimes.

Mr Clinton had big doubts about the treaty, but signed it three weeks before he left office. The move was derided as an empty gesture because the Senate, which would have to ratify the treaty for it to become US law, was implacably opposed to it.

President Bush intends to "unsign" it, effectively nullifying Mr Clinton's signature and ensuring that the Senate could not bring it into force.

In January, Mr Bush signed a law forbidding Pentagon funds being used "to co-operate" with the ICC. Members of the House of Representatives are drafting legislation that could restrict military aid to non-Nato countries participating in the court.

The ICC's critics say Colin Powell, the US secretary of state, or his successors could be arrested in future over current foreign policy.

I LIKE BUSH

Goody for you. It will be interesting to see how you feel about him when the rest of your rights are gone.

You See he can do something right.

I see that he doesn't want other countries to usurp your rights, he reserves that for our country.

BTW, I will give him credit when I feel he is due it. This is the right thing to do, I can only hope it is for the right reasons.

You are watching the first EVER President to become a NON ENTITY!!!!! 500 years from now I doubt SERIOUSLY if the name BILL CLINTON will EVER be REMEMBERRRED!!! LOL

Sadly the truely evil ones are always remembered and even revered by some. Hitler, Jack the Rippe, Stalin, carl Marx, etc are all more familiar names to our kids than Madison, George Mason, and Sam Adams. The very evil they did keeps their name in the light of history, or rather, infamy.

I think that Billy's very debasement of the office and the law will keep him alive in the history of our country.

And would these same "critics" care to dig up and arrest the bodies of George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, and Harry Truman as well?

Think about it. With a time machine, you could go back to the summer of 1992 and remove the poster on the Clinton campaign wall that stated: "It's the economy, stupid." And while you are at it, you could tell Mr. G.H. Bush about how people shop in a supermarket - and remove his wrist watch before the debates. And while you are at it, you could have Mr. Perot start his attack on Clinton's dismal record in Arkansas a little earlier. And while you are at it, you could ...

The Bush administration plans to delete President Clinton's signature from the treaty. . . .

Great move by the President--although the London Telegraph is hoping to incite some anti-American Euro-venom through their headline.

Any guesses at how Bubba will respond when the media asks him what he thinks of Bush's move?

Sounds like a good plan, except it won't work. My mother used to say "wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up first".

You do the hoping, I'll do the work needed to elect someone who will defend my rights. It may take a long time, but hoping will never make it happen.

My my, so you think looking at his watch or not understanding the latest supermarket scanning machine cost President Bush the election. I see you are amongst the gullible sheeple led by the media.

No doubt it was clinton's plan to continue to harm our country, our national security, and our well being for many years after his term. Every single institution is riddled with his moles doing their dirty work against America.
