Interesting with all the sniping at Bush by conservatives that the Republican approval level has barely budged.

It's also interesting to note that Bush's support among Republicans is near 100%. You wouldn't know that by all the sniping in this forum at Bush. The support among Independents is near 75%. If this holds, it won't matter if Democrat support goes down to zero.

George W. Bush's current job approval rating stands at 76%, his lowest rating since the Sept. 11

Oh the horrors. 3 out of 4 folks approve of the guy.

This is another piece of poll BS. With a +/- 3% MOE, Bush's job approval rating could be 79%, essentially unchanged from last week.

Gallup tried to pull this trick a month ago, when they and USA Today ran the screaming headlines "BUSH APPROVAL DROPS BELOW 80% FOR FIRST TIME!!!!". But once you looked at the MOE, it showed there was no change in his approval at all. And sure enough, one week later the next Gallup poll showed Bush back at 80%. But of course, there was no major news coverage of that one.

hey, you know... I waz just thunking of sumfin...

I've been thunking.... what would a democRAT do to get control of Congress? START WWIII and blame BUSH!

1) so... the economy goes sour, try to blame Bush - but tax stimulus reinvigorates economy and oil prices drop, again helping the economy. This attack fails.

2) Call Bush stupid - but then September 11th happens and we see Georeg for who he is - a man of principles, conviction, and straight talk.

3) All other attacks failing, since the democRATS are in tight with the Palestinians - ask Yassar to sacrifice a few kids with bomb belts - piss off the Israelis (Bush is too successful in Afghanistan) - and then Attack the Bush administration for it's Jeffersonian (hands-off) approach to Mid-East Policy.

so, as Hillary would say... it's all a vast left-wing conspiracy, aided by stooges in the liberal media, to instigate WWIII so that they can blame Bush and take control of Congress.

At the current rate of decline, Bush's approval rating would be around 62-64% on election day.

The decline in Bush's overall job approval rating can be attributed to changes in the opinions of Democrats

You can't keep the braindead on life support forever. Best pull the plug.

Well, I can't vouch for some of the so-called "conservative" media (but the game there is ratings..hint, hint), but I can let you in on a little secret about the sniping here at FR ----

Some of these folks wouldn't support Bush if he walked on water.

It's a minor change in approval ratings but IMHO, our President shouldn't listen to democrat pundits. Each time they come around snapping their greasy fingers demanding him to jump on it, for example last week it was "engage", full well knowing any so-called "engagement" is bound to be full of unrequited love. Bush should instead just listen to his own advice and stand up for what he believes in which is truth and his brilliant Bush Doctrine.

Moreover, President Bush has gone beyond the call of duty being open and courteous to his political opponents. Willing to meet them half way, complimenting them, inviting them to come to the White House, and what does he get instead from these close minded elected democrats, nothing but callous uncivil nit picking.

Contrast President Bush's genteel approach to Bill Clinton's open hostility toward his political opponents even before he was elected to the presidency. He never let up on his policy of politics of personal destruction as he an his wife designed and created the VRWC as their non-existent nemesis in order to further their own ambitions by duping their weak minded followers into truly believing such an organization was behind all of Bill's problems.

If only once Clinton had shown a friendly regard towards the right wing, how differently I may have viewed him as a person. But sadly, he was not a man possessed of decency or gentlemanly manners. His was a message of exclusivity to his own club, forget and crush the outsiders.

God Bless President Bush and America!

The drop is media driven IMHO. They are attacking him right and left, some blatantly, some more subtle. Elections are coming up, so the water carriers for the DNC are doing what they always do!
You can watch the propaganda unfolding on every newscast daily now.
