Statement by Saundra Duffy
My Mom died of cancer. Two of her sisters have died from cancer. Therefore, I am predisposed to cancer and, in fact, I have had two bouts with cancer.
I am offended that Planned Parenthood, and some in the media, has criticized me because of my concern for women with breast cancer, even though I'm not dying of the disease myself at this very moment.
I am offended that the abortion industry wants to keep women in the dark about the abortion breast-cancer link. Planned Parenthood obviously has a very low opinion of our ability to handle facts.
I am not demanding that Planned Parenthood, or anyone else, be muzzled and stripped of their First Amendment rights. But, I am insisting that I not be muzzled and stripped of my free speech right. And I am demanding that consumers be fully informed.
There's an epidemic of breast cancer. Women are suffering and dying, their families devastated. The link between abortion and breast cancer should be widely known so that families can make an informed choice regarding the grave consequences of that decision.
I am not naive. I do realize the wealth and power of the massive abortion industry. But it is my hope that they will soften their hearts enough to tell the truth about this scientifically proven abortion breast cancer link. Friday, April 5, 2002

HAULING BIG ABORTION BACK TO COURT
Population Research Institute et al.
vs.
Planned Parenthood
Speakers:
Saundra Duffy-Hawkins, Plaintiff, Bernardo et al. v. Planned Parenthood Federation of America et al.
Steve Mosher, President, Population Research Intsitute
Patrick Gillen, Attorney, Thomas More Law Center
Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, Breast Cancer Surgeon
Dr. Joel Brind, Professor of Endocrinology, Baruch College, New York
Dr. Charles Francis, Melbourne University, Australia
Santa Clara, California Steve Mosher, president of the human rights group that exposed forced abortion and sterilization in China, turns his attention towards ending womens rights abuses committed in the United States.
During investigations overseas, Population Research Institute (PRI) has demonstrated that coercion is an integral part of the international abortion industry. In America, the abortion industry thrives on misinformation to conceal from women the health risks of abortions.
At this press conference, plaintiffs will announce that they are continuing their efforts to require Planned Parenthood to disclose scientific evidence demonstrating induced abortion increases the risk of breast cancer, by appealing a lower court ruling.
Featured at the press conference is Patrick Gillen, attorney with the Thomas More Law Center, and lead attorney in Bernardo et al. v. Planned Parenthood Federation of America et al. ``The issue is whether Big Abortion will be exempted from their legal duty to provide truthful and accurate information about the risks associated with abortion, Gillen said.
The risks of abortion will be articulated by medical experts featured at the conference. PRI et al. will enter the appeal as a friend of the court., citing international precedents upholding the link between abortion and breast cancer.
``Governments like China have lied about forced abortion for years, and the abortion lobby continues to hide the abuse, Mosher said. ``But today in Washington, funds for forced abortion and involuntary sterilization abroad are on hold. U.S. law prohibits support of family planning programs abroad that deprive women of their basic rights. But in many ways, many women in America have less protection in law and the courts than many overseas. This is unconscionable. While Big Abortion scrambles to cover domestic abuse, our nations will to provide women with full information about the risks of abortion continues to grow. If you think youve seen major litigation against Big Tobacco, just wait until the dam breaks against the abortion industry.
This press conference precedes the luncheon banquet at PRIs Global Family Life conference, which the media is also cordially invited to attend. Representatives of Californias major pro-family groups, along with more than fifty of the worlds top pro-family leaders, plus an expected 2,000 American pro-life activists, will attend the five-day Global Family Life conference, April 3-7, at the Santa Clara Marriott.
PRI is dedicated to ending human rights abuses committed in family planning programs.
For victory & freedom!!!
The opposition will be fierce and merciless. You should answer always with a few simple questions:
"If women's health is the primary goal, why are you against women having the facts to make an informed decision? Is this not what the tobacco industry did, putting profits before public health? Why should we expect less of you than cigarette makers?"
Saundra, good luck to you in your battle with BIG ABORTION. I admire you tremendously for your efforts.
Lager, you rock! Take good care of Saundra during this ordeal.
Very well put, FReeper! I'll remember it. Thanks!
Best wishes for Saundra -- and congratulations on making a great statement!!!
