A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 4/5/02

President Bush welcomed British Prime Minister Tony Blair to the Western White House today for talks about the current crisis in the Middle East. The meeting was initially supposed to be about Iraq, but has taken a detour given recent events in Israel. In an interview with Granada television, however, Bush made it clear that Saddam Hussein has to go (see the QotD). Enjoy the daily dose of Dubya!

Well, the reason I stick around is because if we all leave, the nasty people will have won. I refuse.
I used to think that ignoring them would work (as rintense can testify) but I am now in post-9/11 mode, and I won't put up with it any more.
All people can disagree, but these insults and lies have got to stop. My personal opinion is that it is a concerted effort to drive Bush supporters from the forum so that they can spin their "Bush has lost his base" mantra.
I absolutely will not leave them in the majority.
Plus, sticking around annoys the heck out of them. Ha!

Don't you ever leave, sweetie. Ever. We are in this together and if I ever see someone purposefully twisting your remarks, I will be there. And would you please ping me if some idiot is rankling your feathers so that I can enjoy some get down go for it radically republican venting? I, too, think FR has had a rash of putting Bush down and I think it has to do with our power base building into a genuine force. We need to keep the positive threads going and simply drown out these who would desert their leader at the drop of a pin.

Once again, you have inspired me, Miss Marple.
You are absolutely right about everything you said.......especially about not letting these awful people win. I am trying to arm myself with facts, plain and simple to refute the lies, but even in doing so, the insults remain. Though I surely will never be as well informed and articulate as you, I shall press on and defend truth against the ongoing slander of our fine President!

Should be interesting to compare the photos of W with Blair in the truck, and also the ones with Putin when he visited, with photos for when the Saudi king goes to visit Crawford in August, as he's supposed to do. Wonder if W will drive him around in the 4x4. That would be an interesting sight!

Wow, almost 300 replies - and no disruptors. There is so much to be thankful for. Just watched our W and Tony Blair. They were great. Our W was so forceful, what a LEADER. I think we are fortunate to have have such a loyal ally as Great Britain. Tony was singing our W's praises. And rightly so. I agree with whoever posted that other world leaders were just tolerating Clinton. They knew he was a liar and couldn't be trusted. What a buffoon he was. Did you hear GWB refer to the "rumour" that he held the Clinton admin. responsible for the mess in the Middle East? He said no, he holds Arafat responsible, because he has not led, and he has "disappointed" him (Bush). I wouldn't want to be the poor fool who disappoints our President. He is about to get a Texas-sized @ss whooping. Good. Welome to all the new posters to the Dose. We are practically family. It feels nice. :-)

We need to not make fun of Blair's clothes. Kristinn just informed me (and I am sorry to say I had forgotten about this British custom) that Blair is wearing a mourning suit (black suit and tie) as a show of respect for the Queen Mother. He will no doubt be seen in this attire in all public appearances until after the funeral.
President Bush also wore a coat and tie at the press conference which just concluded.
So, Mr. Blair gets a plus in my book for continuing a tradition for the royal family and not dressing down although he would no doubt be more comfortable.

A fine-looking pair!

Press conference??? And I MISSED IT. Oh, please do tell.
Ohio...you can ping me any time some poster is trying to take you down. Remember, there is more power in numbers. And we definitely have more in number; it just seems like there are so many bashers out there of late. Of course, a good many of them will never support Bush no matter what.
There are some really creepy people on FR sometimes. Remember that thread about pornography, Ohio? Ewwwww...that was gross.
MM...you are an inspiration. I am always immediately drawn to your posts, especially in response to the bashers and naysayers. Always keep up the good work!

So true. I forgot all about that too. I just thought he was being proper, and George had already been at the ranch for a while and had more time to unwind by that point than Tony. Didn't think anything of it, really.
Boy, was our President wonderful today. When he talks, it's like music to my ears. He is a results-oriented, clear-spoken guy. I loved the way Tony seemed to just be thrilled to speak with someone who doesn't talk out of the side of his mouth. I loved George being fair and firm, and Tony even commented on it, too.
This Presidency is a dream come true - the cavalry coming in at the right moment, for the entire world.
Isn't it great that England and US are so together. Sheesh, the history between us, and look at the friendship--that says a lot about the root core goodness that freedom/capitalism inspires.
You were stellar, today, dear President. And, Mr. Blair, I loved the way you added a supportive, cushion of explanation when our President gave out a firm statement. You were a joy to listen to. England should be very proud to have you as her leader.
Go Georgy Go!

Agree 100% We'll be sounding like Gloria Steinham in a minute. "We're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore." LOL . We're BushBabes, we're in your face
Our intellect tells us that people (I use the term very loosely) who resort to name calling, have lost their argument before they've even begun. That doesn't stop the personal attack from hurting. Just come back to the Dose for the soothing balm, and the really articulate debaters here will give you fresh ammo. I'm not a good debater, nor am I very articulate when it comes to some of these issues, but I give a very good cyber back rub. So, holler if you need me. OK?
