President Bush welcomed British Prime Minister Tony Blair to the Western White House today for talks about the current crisis in the Middle East. The meeting was initially supposed to be about Iraq, but has taken a detour given recent events in Israel. In an interview with Granada television, however, Bush made it clear that Saddam Hussein has to go (see the QotD). Enjoy the daily dose of Dubya!

And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Saying, Say His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. (Matthew 27:62, 63; 28:1-15)
Where there is truth, there is also going to be error (read = the world as we now know it).

AMEN!! Another part of the irony is that not only is President Bush a leader who inspires and leads others to righteous ends, but he is also smart, and a "quick study" (the words of his mother, but now known by the entire world), who has all the details well in hand.
I, for one, hope that detail obsessed, micromanager algore runs against him again, so that we can watch Bush bury him alive in the debates. I won't even be nervous about it this time.
(And I bet Gore won't press him on the 'Dingle-Norwood' bill either!)

Thanks for posting this chapter, FWI! I have thought about Laura Bush often as I've read this section of Proverbs.
I just finished reading the new biography about her, and was even more impressed with what an amazing woman she is. She is intelligent, kind, caring, ambitious in doing good, a really good wife and mother, and concerned from her youth about people in need.
Charm and beauty are indeed fleeting, but as we're seeing here daily on the Dose, the First Couple, whose hearts are beautiful because they fear the Lord, are becoming more attractive every day.
Noticed how the reverse is true of the xlintons? Can they get any uglier??

I was watching Kudlow and Cramer last night and Cramer said he thought W's speech on Thursday about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict was his best yet. There, of course, was disagreement among the panel - most the others thought the post 9/11 speech to Congress was his best. Anyway, Cramer says later in the show "I did not vote for George W. Bush but after listening to his speech yesterday, I am ashamed that I did not." WOW! People are coming around to his MORAL leadership as that is what that speech was about. My heart swelled with pride.
