'Never talk to a wizard.

Given that a psychologist has NEVER healed a disturbed patient, and can do grave damage to a serviceman's career should he commit the most minor slip ... would you say anything to one? Typical small-minds mentality. ... After you reward the terrorists, make certain you torment the staff.

How right those Marines are not to talk to a psychiatrist. They should also never tell the Chaplain about any problems they are having because the Chaplain will also report them to the Commanding Officer. I speak from experience.

If you haven't read it yet, this is a related story about the treatment of the detainees: Guantanamo's Unhappy Campers

Also, did anyone see Charlie Daniels on Hannity & Colmes the other night? He also said the treatment these terrorists are getting is too good for them.

I wonder why the Red Cross, Amnesty International et al. are not coming to the aid of our troops. Using their logic, if the treatment of the prisoners is substandard, the the treatment of the troops must be really substandard. But, I guess the RC and AI use a different, more liberal standard that only works one way.

Did the rules change since I was in? As I recall the briefing, chaplains were under confidentiality. They were not allowed to report what people told them, and couldn't tell even if they were ordered. They were still officers, and as I recall, the chaplain who briefed us on this also said if some one told him of something dangerous, he wouldn't let him leave the office until he was sure he'd report it himself, but the chaplain couldn't do so.

Course, I got this briefing from a chaplain, so if it's wrong or biased, set me straight.

Perhaps some kind freeper can figure a way for us to send emails and support messages to our troops at Guantanamo.

My experience: it would take something VERY serious for the chaplain to break confidentiality. The only incident of a chaplain running to the CO I ever heard of in the USMC involved a guy who (a) was starting to experience auditory and visual hallucinations and (b) was guarding a Special Ammunition Storage Facility.

I'd like to create a flash web site. I'll call it- Beat the Sh** Out of a Camp X-ray Detainee. Should be good for a few laughs. You could hit him with a box of fruit loops.

That's pretty much how I went through my school years.

Gradually. ;-)

more 'political correctness' by 'taking the high moral ground' and bendover backwards for the world's media to see & scrutinize how we're treating the Taliban & Al Queda prisoners led to all this crap.

This strikes to the heart of the troops morale if we're really treating the dogs better than the guards.
