(Arafat) Father of All Terrorists
The Omega Letter ^ | 4/3/02 | Jack Kinsella

Israel made public some of the documents it seized in its raid on Arafat’s Ramallah headquarters. Their contents end the twin myths of ‘Arafat, Statesman’ and ‘Arafat, Peacemaker’. The seized documents instead unmask Yasser Arafat, Father of All Terrorists, to a stubbornly disbelieving world.

Signed, Sealed and A ‘Forgery’

One of the documents was taken after Israeli troops stormed Arafat's compound last Friday. It was an invoice submitted by a leading Palestinian militant group to a Palestinian official described by Israel as Arafat's main weapons buyer.

Among other items, the invoice requests 20,000 Israeli shekels, about $4,200, to pay for electrical and chemical components for the production of a month's supply of about 30 bombs.

The PA dismissed it as a ‘forgery’ – removing all doubt as to its validity. Another ‘forgery’ was the invoice presented by the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades to Fuad Shubaki, the chief procurement and finance officer of the Palestinian security services.

Shubaki was the same guy who paid for the Karine-A. That was a ship containing 50 tons of weapons stamped “made in Iran”, manned by Palestinian naval officers, bound for Gaza and intercepted by Israel on the Red Sea.

Among the invoices were those for printing anti-Israeli propaganda and incitement literature.

The Self-Perpetuating Lie

A picture emerges of a Yasser Arafat that the mainstream media is reluctant to admit exists. For eight years, Arafat has been the darling of the liberal media, and a particular favorite of CNN. It was easy for them to be hoodwinked by the old terrorist.

There was plenty of bait on the hook; Israel, the nation the world loves to hate; the willingness of the Palestinians to stage demonstrations on demand for CNN’s cameras, guaranteeing them the best footage for their 24 hour news machine; easy access to top Palestinian newsmakers – very enticing.

And, having already dismissed Israel as guilty ‘til proved innocent, the liberal press began believing its own propaganda and re-running the same video clips until they themselves forgot they were staged. It became a lie that grew by feeding on itself.

Arafat The Besieged

Hoping to rehabilitate Arafat, [and thereby itself], the media is now focusing on Arafat the Besieged, the poor fellow hunkered, hungry and alone, with only a machine gun and candle for company against the bloodthirsty Israeli juggernaut at the door – wow! Now that’s news copy!

Arafat The Leader

Let’s remember Arafat in the Good Old Days when Bill Clinton loved him [and coveted his Nobel Peace Prize], when he flew about in a private jet, ate caviar and barked orders to his underlings while his people suffered runaway inflation and rampant unemployment.

In the eight years since the experiment in Palestinian autonomy began, Arafat has made no pretense at democracy.

There is no system of government. No rule of law, no free press, no infrastructure of hospitals, courts, public works, communications or internal economy. The concept of a ‘garbage truck’ is as foreign to the Palestinian Authority as Jimmy Dean’s Pure Pork Sausage.

Hundreds of millions in international aid poured into the Palestinian Treasury. The “Tunisians” -- as the locals called the Arafat loyalists who returned with him from exile in Tunisia – lived in open opulence in villas by the sea. Arafat traveled from place to place in a convoy of brand new Mercedes limousines, flanked by brand new Blazers and Land Rovers packed with bodyguards carrying brand new Kalashnikovs.

And the Palestinian people continued to bury or burn their trash, watch their kids get brainwashed into baby militants, while they walked the unpaved streets searching for work that only seemed to exist in Israel.

Arafat The Statesman

I was always fascinated to watch the various participants at the endless negotiating sessions of those early days. First would arrive the Israelis.

Yitzhak Rabin would unfold himself from the back seat of a Chevy, wearing a cheap rumpled suit, out of fashion necktie askew on the frayed collar of his shirt. His bodyguards and entourage looked like they were wearing Rabin’s hand-me-downs. No matter what time of year, Rabin perspired like he was in a sauna.

They’d all sit on one side of the table. Each member would have in front of him a glass of water and an ashtray. A few bowls of fruit would be in reach.

Then the Arab delegation would arrive. Debarking from long black limos, wearing long flowing robes over flawless Armani suits, designer sunglasses and not a frayed collar among them, they’d sit on the other side.

They drank only imported bottled water. Despite all the flowing robes, they didn’t sweat.

At home, the Palestinians grew angrier as the walked the unpaved streets past uncollected garbage looking for work that only seemed to exist in Israel.

Arafat the Myth and Myth-Maker

Arafat did ensure the adequate funding of one critical part of the social infrastructure. The Palestinian Department of Education always got all the funding it required. All Palestinian schoolbooks had to be original material, since much of it was made up. That was pretty expensive.

An entire generation was taught that it was Israel’s fault that the trash remained uncollected and all the jobs were in Israel.

If it weren’t, then the jobs would be in Palestine, right?

The Jews were to blame for the unpaved streets, because they weren’t sharing the tax revenues with the Palestinian Authority.

The Jews stole the best parts of the land. There is no land of Israel, only the temporarily occupied ancestral homeland of the Palestinian people. All the maps in all the schoolbooks and on all the walls in all of Palestine say so.

When Israel closed the borders to stop Palestinian terrorists that were trying to destroy Israel, some idiot in the media called it ‘economic terrorism’.

Arafat loved that line, repeating it so often nobody remembered that all the jobs are in Israel and none are in Palestine. Soon everybody forgot that the terrorists trying to destroy Israel would mean no jobs to be kept away from in the first place.

“Bias”

Arafat continues to survive, feeding on the myth the liberal media built. It isn’t that the liberal press is deliberately spreading lies. They can’t help it.

As Bernie Goldberg pointed out in his book, “Bias”, the liberal press doesn’t think its liberal. They live in a world where they interact mostly with other journalists, not mainstream America.

What they think, most of their friends think, therefore, it is the majority, centrist view. Since they don’t know any pro-life, pro-Israel, pro-death penalty, pro-prayer in schools types, then such must be a tiny, but vocal minority.

Since liberals like Ted Kennedy reflect the views of their friends, they see him as center-left. He is always identified by the media as “Senator Kennedy of Massachusetts, never the ‘liberal Senator Kennedy.”

Jesse Helms has never been introduced as Sen. Helms of North Carolina in his long political career. His full name is repeated every time he is ever identified by a news anchor as ‘Ultraconservative Jesse Helms, the Senator from North Carolina’ lest the public mistakenly believe Helms is capable of independent thought. Not because they are malicious, but because they are considerate.

Goldberg’s book also demonstrates how tenaciously the mainstream guards its preconceptions. And that is what is taking place here.

Despite all the evidence, the worldwide media refuses to admit that it has been backing the wrong horse for a decade.

They can’t admit it. They’ve staked their reputation on uncovering the ‘truth’ about the racist, oppressive Jewish Gestapo seeking to ethnically cleanse Palestine of its indigenous people.

The Palestinians just have to be the indigenous people of the region. Otherwise, it would be the Jews who belong there, just like the Bible said. It would mean that the Bible had some validity.

Next thing you know, everybody might be reading it.

And the next generation of newscasters might introduce the “Ultra Liberal Ted Kennedy III and ‘Senator Jesse Helms III’.

The media can’t permit that. They have a duty to protect the ‘mainstream’ thinking of Middle America. Like all their friends.

Mindless, Global Hatred

The end result is the fulfillment of Zechariah’s prophecy. Although nobody can quite point out exactly how or why, somehow, the religious claims of Israel recorded 3000 years ago are invalid on their face because they are based on the Bible.

At the same time, there is global acceptance of the Islamic claim to both the land and Jerusalem.

Despite the fact Islam’s claim is also entirely based in religion. And it is not recorded anywhere in the Koran and was written 1200 years after the Psalmist wrote; “If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.” [Psalms 137:6]

The global hatred of Israel is mindless and it is real. Zechariah said that in the last days, the whole world would unite as one force against Israel and specifically over the city of Jerusalem. Seemed pretty far-fetched for the first 2500 years people were reading of it. No Israel, no conflict, no sweat.

Israel has only existed a half-century. Take a look around.

Looks like the scum still had time to get cleaned up and pose for a picture. And isn't it interesting that a "news" magazine like Time would give him the cover, looking all like a whipped puppy and everything... No bias there, right? Did time do a cover made up as a composite of all the people blown to bits by the bombers that Arafat okayed? Did Time do a cover of the Israeli women crying over their dead children?

Arafat is free to travel anywhere in the world. He'd be welcome as a statesman anywhere in the Arab world, which, as a whole, is as large or larger than the US. The Jews have a little plot of land smaller than the Navajo Reservation. The Jews are getting blown up. And Time tells the world that it is ARAFAT who is "boxed in."

Time Magazine. An "American" icon. That's a part of "America" I hate more than any of those Arabs hate America...

Nothing new to me. The proof is welcome, of course- and automatically dismissed by the apologists with the usual excuses.

When we look back at the 1990's, I am confident they will be remembered as

"The Decade of Frauds...."

Arafat, Gerry Adams of the IRA, the clintons, the DotCom bubble economy, etc.-- an endless pantheon of cheats, swindles, and spin....

One thing these brutal murderers all seem to have in common:
A propensity to wear cheezy military-style uniforms.
Arafat, like Castro, was and is a Marxist "people's revolutionary."
He used to get millions in support and arms from the Soviet-bloc/Warsaw Pact.
When that source dried up a couple of years ago,
the US stepped in to refill his coffers -
kind humaitarians that we are.
