Question: Bill O'Reilly's Exact Political Stance

He's generally labeled by the media to be a regular old conservative. I guess this is based on issues such as for example, his repeated assults on the arguably poor image and/or influence of the entertainment world. And even tonight at Harvard, his stance against reprimands. Yet, I could swear hearing several times in which O'Reilly has stated that he's against the Death Penalty and certain forms (I'm not sure if it's all) of Racial Profiling. So isn't he of sorts, really an ever changing moderate!? That's not to say that O'Reilly should be a fall guy of sorts. I say this since the Fox News Channel, for all intentive purposes, built its fundation as being sort of a response to the alleged bias in mainstream journalism (i.e. the alphabet channels) when in return, they hire people like Geraldo Rivera and Greta Van Susteren.

Oh come on, Bill is a great guy and he is not a socialist. He is like what Michael Moore would be if Moore was an honest a sincere person instead of a hack for the Demos

No. O'Reilly is a Catholic. That's where he gets his moral bearings. And he's never been near a Country Club. (He went to Harvard rather late in life, and speaks of it as Dubya speaks of Yale. Rarely and with distaste.)

He is anti-Death Penalty because he's a Catholic, and many Catholics (like Tony Snow) believe that being against the Death Penalty is the proper & consistent pro-life position.

Well I am a catholic and I am against the death penalty because I have to ask myself .. could I push that botton and the truth is .. no I could not kill another person

However ... if someone else wants to ... that's ok by me

O'Reilly doesn't have any core convictions.

He'll take any position just for the chance to hear himself scream.

I've watched enough of him to figure out that he is a country club Republican who thinks he can spout off a crack that will make his golf caddy like him a bit better

he was a registered Republican in Florida and when the media digged it up he moved to Independent.

I hope you knew that by the term "Country Club Republican", I meant people who were conservative mainly on economic issues only. About the only social issues they are conservative on are those where the liberal position is somehow unseemly or "messy", like support for pornography. I've known a lot of "country clubbers" who don't know which end of a nine iron to hold, but know which pocket their wallets are in, and that seems to govern their political stances.

I like most of what O'Reilly does. He did a lot of good opening people's eyes to the American Red Cross and the United Way. Unfortunately, an unintended consequence will be that America will not open its checkbook so freely for many years no matter what happens. My take is that he wants to rub Harvard in everyone's face. Anyone that watches him much knows he went as a graduate student. No need to repeat it 4 times a week. I, for one, am happy for him, but I am not as impressed as maybe I should be in his eyes.

I've been discussing the abortion/death penalty issues since Roe v. Wade and the only people I've come across who try to equate the two issues are the pro-abortion liberals, and they generally try to use it to embarrass pro-lifers to into admitting they make exceptions to their sanctity of life philosophy.

I'm catholic, pro-life and, generally, pro-death penalty.

He's an entertainer making mega bucks and he'll say and do what he needs to do to maintain that status.

Usuallly I just reply one did something to deserve it, the other did nothing...but I do like your twist.
