At least the church is addressing their problems. I do not see the public schools doing anything.

You will sooner see the public schools "doing something" by ridding themselves of those teachers and other personnel who might deign to try exposing such misconduct among their ranks.

The thing is, the church opposes homosexuality and look at the problems they have. The NEA does everything but put out a welcome mat for molesters. Some people are in our schools who have no business being there. This guy, for instance:

Steve Quester, an HIV-positive homosexual and a 1st grade teacher in Brooklyn who is protesting IDF actions, dined with Arafat the other day (he is on vacation from his taxpayer funded job). Quester is a member of Jews Against the Occupation.
The first link is not for the squeamish. Steve is very explicit in relating exactly how he became HIV infected.

Clearly the gentleman sounds, how shall I say this, about two bitter herbs short of a Passover Seder plate? (What the hey, I'm one of the tribe, and frankly speaking this fellow sounds almost as though being Jewish is something he merely puts up with.) I wouldn't care what he does in his own bedroom, if only he would keep it there. Big "if only," folks.

Isn't it nice to be able to fly to the mideast on school break. Imagine what this guy costs the taxpayer working in a NYC school and being HIV postive.

Socialists always find a nest at taxpayer expense. Or they are extremely wealthy and don't care if they pay half what they make in taxes. High taxes on working stiffs stops them from making enough money to cause delays at the lifts on the slopes in St Moritz.

This seems to be an epidemic in the Church. But they appear to be addressing it. That's good.

Those are just the cases I found last summer on FR. Haven't looked much since 9/11. Doing news searches usually turned up two or three a week. Sure puts what is happening in the Catholic Church in a different perspective, doesn't it?

What gets me is abuse in government schools rarely makes national news. Micahel Eisner hasn't made a movie entitled "The Teacher."
