This new design is confusing and very nauseating. Hey, haven't you heard of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

If you want to unsubscribe to a topic just click on the topic title in the righthand column and it takes you to that topic page. Then go to the top of the page and click where it says "Click here to unsubscribe." I hope this helps. They have also changed some of the terminology which makes it even more confusing. Good Luck. LOL!

If you want to unsubscribe to a topic just click on the topic title in the righthand column and it takes you to that topic page. Thanks for taking the time to try to help ... but it is a "forum" I'm trying to get rid of not a "topic" :)
This does point out, however, that we need a "tutorial" or a "how to" page to answer questions like these. Thanks!

I like the improvements since yesterday. Particularily the increased number of threads listed in the right sidebar and moving the poll question to the left. Thanks for responding to these suggestions so quickly.

Apparently they are tweaking the software as we speak. If you click on the MY FORUM in the left column it states it is not in service at this time. However, you can change forums you view simply by clicking on the different forums in the upper part of the left column. Good Luck. LOL!

Um, I think you responded to the wrong person. I didn't say anything about a gas station.

I like the design now after teh changes. Before, it was confusing though.

I don't really notice a difference in speed of the site.
To: knuthom
Yeah, what a difference a day makes. Looking a lot better here in Texas now.

THANK YOU!!!! I've been missing my Breaking News in the sidebar. Was having a heck of a time finding out how to put it back. Thanks so much for your post.

"I don't really notice a difference in speed of the site." Lucky you. On my 56K dialup connection, it is MUCH slower (I would estimate twice to three times longer loading). A gentleman on another thread actually took some time MEASUREMENTS and found a TEN-FOLD increase in loading time (30 seconds for the "new/improved" vs. 3 seconds for the "old/tired/outmoded" version).
The MAJOR changes to the look and feel since the new version was put up for "general use" have drastically improved the visual "ease of use", and some improvements have been made in organization, but I still don't see any effect on the speed issue. I would hazard a guess that there are unlikely to be any, as all the new "bells and whistles" undoubtedly add overhead.

Headline: Conservatives resist change!!!! In that sense American "conservatives" are not particularly conservative. It is only in the government that we resist change encroaching expansion. In the private sector, what we want to conserve is freedom--and freedom is precisely the ability to change.
Free pricing, for instance, allows us to adapt to changing economic conditions--whereas wage/price controls prevent adaptation (change) and threaten us with really serious change known as instability.

Looks like all the complaining threads have died out. In a way I feel bad for the Robinsons that their exciting new software that they obviously worked hard on was so poorly received. I am glad that they have responded to a lot of the suggestions.
But... does anybody besides me wonder if the current "about as ugly as you can get" compromised look is more out of spite (because of the complaining) than anything else?
Sigh, I long for the old look but as long as the information is here...

When I clicked my FR link a couple of days ago I thought it was the end of it. And I couldn't figure out why. I am happy to learn it was a SELF-INFLICTED injury and it's reversible. The healing takes time. I'm going to visit FR in a couple of days again hoping to see it completely cured and back to its good old looks (I'm such a conservative! ;-).
To: rs79bm
Hey, even Microsoft doesn't provide a user guide, so why should FR? /rhetorical
