President Bush signed the controversial Campaign Finance Reform bill today as Mitch McConnell immediately filed suit against it. Bush later headed to South Carolina where he spoke to Emergency First Responders in Greenville. He also stopped in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology where he watched drills demostrating response to terror attacks. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Why are you digging your heels in over this? You seem to want to taunt the posters on this thread. It is not a "true" political discussion thread in the sense you think.
Your (political) opinions are thoughtful and seem to be sincere. But the posters on this thread CHOOSE not to discuss them with you. Many of the posters on this thread have made very spirited and cogent posts on those threads that have specifically dealt with CFR.
We just want to come in here, to The Dose, to relax and admire our President and Laura, and share our thoughts and pictures with our friends. We've been coming here for over a year, and we are very protective our The Dose. We don't like it when people come in to The Dose with muddy feet and upset our day. Thank you for understanding now.

Thanks baseballmom. That's about the friendliest and most straight forward reply I've gotten.
I regret starting political talk on what is supposed to be a non-political thread. I've seen lots of talk there before, but not read it. I really didn't even think to keep my comments in a more expected/appropriate forum.
From now on, I'll try to stick with the culture (except for how most people respond hehe.) I will say though, when I read the president's comments, it was the first time I had seen them, and as a republican, a conservative, a constitutional devotee and an attorney, I was pretty shocked and upset, so I hit reply as fast as I could and let out some of my frustration.
Have a nice night.

Another 500 Doser !!! Wow, this is THE place to be. The pictures, as usual, were great.
John, your essay was great. You have such a gift for making sense out of a complicated subject. I agree, that you should publish your writing. Thanks for sharing.
With our W and Laura at the ranch, does this mean we are in for a dry spell??? Well, as disappointing as that will be, God knows he could use the rest.

I think I'll be having a glass of wine tonight too!

MM! I have White Merlot. Have you ever had it? It is FABULOUS. I swear, FR can drive ya to drink sometimes, huh?

Hey, you guys are making me thirsty! I'm going up to get myself a glass of vino. I shall report back.
This is great because my husband is out of town and I really hate to drink 'alone.' LOL!

I don't think Bush ever represented himself as a right wing conservative. The press has accused him of being right of his father. I agree that you should go to a Bush Bashing thread to do your work.

Ladies, please allow me . . . . .

Why thank you.
I am currently sipping a nice blend of merlot, cabernet, and zinfindel. At first blush, it tasted a bit sharp but as the air warms the wine, it is becoming much more soothing to my palate! I am such a sophisticate! Can't y'all tell? LOL!
