In any case, I do not want those comments about groups that you dislike here on this thread.
2. This is 'Free' Republic. Attempting to silence the opposition seems to be a trait you share with John McCain and Co.
3. Your misdirection ploy (this thread intended to take the focus off the fact that the President today took an action deplored by about 85% of the Republican Party and most FReepers) is clever, but ultimately will prove fruitless.
4. You didn't answer my question. Why is is cowardly for Congressmen to cave to pressure to support this bill (your words, not mine), but it is not cowardly for the President to sign selfsame bill?
5. What part of "Congress shall pass no law abridging freedom of speech" don't you get?
6. What would the President have to do to make you angry?
7. Have I or have I not warned you and others repeatedly in the last months about the damage that would be done to the base of our party by the passage of this bill, and is it or is it not coming to pass today in front of your very eyes?
If I seem overly harsh, I'm sorry...but I'm incensed. This threatens to undercut the hard work of many for the sake of appeasing Democrats and the Press...but I repeat myself.
The wise stem cell decision.
The team chosen to lead this country.
The integrity, the honor, the class he has brought to the presidency and the trust he has generated.
His faith and the naturalness of expressing it provides a wonderful example to our young.
His clarity of right and wrong and his ability to tackle a possible unsolvable problem rather than pushing it aside and playing politics.
His strength, courage and resolve to act when others would have cowered. His patience and his ability to pull a victory from an onslaught from his enemies.
The faith ministry and the realization that God in the picture works where other government programs do not.
The U.N. stance to take the control of aid distribution into American hands and determine that only citizen elected countries will get aid. No more of our money to terrorist training nations.
His efforts on turning around excessive environmental tactics - Klamath Falls water, ANWR drilling, the decision that environmental claims must be based on sound science.
And much, much more. Thanks for making me look at the positive.
- The President's leadership since 9/11 as evidenced by such diverse events as his remarks at the National Prayer Service on 9/14/01 and his throwing out the first pitch at a World Series game in NYC.
- His speech to the students in China.
- The fact that he doesn't always have to be the center of attention. E.g., when the crew of the recon plane was released from China, he did not attend the homecoming so that they would get the fanfare but then he later honored them at the White House.
As far as I've seen from your posts, you don not really care about the Constitution, nor do you care about principle. You're based on high emotionalism that has no principle, and using trendy words such as "Xenophobic" and the butchered meaning of a term, "Racist", indicates that you are a victim of social engineering.
