I think it would be nice to collect a list of all of the things President Bush has accomplished thus far in his term. In an effort to provide FAIR and BALANCED coverage to President Bush's administration, I thought interested Freepers could post accomplishments, both large and small, which they appreciate.
Please do not hesitate to list EO's, roll-backs of EO's, regulation changes with which you are familiar, etc.
All positive accomplishments are welcome. If you have negative comments, please post them on the other thread. Thank you.
TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: accomplishments; bush; progress; wins

I don't feel like a Bush supporter anymore; I feel like a Bush defender. My preference is to take each issue individually and decide. I don't believe it is productive to criticize every action that Clinton took just because he was Clinton. Similarly, I don't think it helps to criticize each Bush action, or to defend every Bush action just because it was Bush who acted.
Bush has done some very good things. He has also done some rather bad ones.
In addition to the individual issues, I believe he is a decent man, which is a good thing, but I also think Carter was a decent man but a horrible President.

it is so sad that some of Bush's supporters are about to desert him..... I see it as the other way around.
No!!! Bush supporters on FR are about to desert him blindly, childishly and shortsightedly.
After all, a Dem would have been a much better candidate.

"ONE YEAR. He's been in office ONE YEAR, and these people are not willing to wait to see exactly what Bush can do."
"Taken as a whole, this bill improves the current system of financing for Federal campaigns, and therefore I have signed it into law." -- G.W.Bush
I've seen quite enough, thank you.

He kept Al Gore out of the White House.

You have NEVER supported George W. Bush in anything. And I don't expect you ever will. As soon as he upholds the (original intent) of the Constitution, he'll get my vote.
Same for any politician, no matter the party label.
To: RJCogburn
He has also done some rather bad ones.I agree 100 percent.
I cannnot get over this "line in the sand" mentality. If you keep drawing a line in the sand, sooner or later, it becomes a circle and you're the only one it -- nobody can please you then, ever.

"You've got to realize where some of this venom is coming from, and it ain't coming from anyplace important."
True, conservatism isn't of much importance in the Republican party.

Howlin, I don't see a lot of people who think that Bush is as bad as Clinton. I do see a lot of people who have a problem with some of his policies. The problem as I see it is that those who support Bush feel that any criticism signifies hatred or irrationality. I don't deny that some out there probably see Bush as equal to Clinton. I'm certainly not one of them and would hope that not many actually see him in those terms, because I don't feel that view is justified.

Then you'll just find something else wrong with him.

I know you're not. But the same argument can be made, is my point. Bush is NOT a lot of the things, including TRAITOR, that I have seen him called this week.
I never dreamed anybody on this site would call for his impeachment.

Then you'll just find something else wrong with him. Just as you will find another reason to pretend those wrongs don't exist.

The reality is that Bush is the president of the United States and all it's people, not just conservative Republicans. Until every citizen is of the same political persuasion, there are going to be areas where he must compromise-that's life. I will never buy into the false premise that Bush has abandoned his core conservative values-that is blatantly false. I will never, ever support the cause of trying to besmirch President Bush, like Rush has been doing. President Bush makes me proud to be an American and after the last 8 years,it doesn't get any better than that.
To: OWK
I'm not pretending anything. I don't agree with everything he does, but I'm not going to commit political suicide because he makes decisions differently than I would.
Sometimes I think if Jesus Christ was a candidate, you'll talk about him wearing a dress.

Well that's a relief. I can vote for the Constitution party with a clear conscience then. It won't be a wasted vote or vote for the Dems, since it isn't an important vote in the first place.

I never dreamed anybody on this site would call for his impeachment.Really? I missed that.
To impeach him would suggest he is as bad as Clinton. That's crazy.
To: Howlin
I don't agree with everything he does, but I'm not going to commit political suicide because he makes decisions differently than I would. So once again, politics are more important than principle.
