I guess I haven't seen and Quickdraw McGraw toons lately. How pathetic that they would edit out Baba, he was actually a lot smarter than Quickdraw.

A few years ago there was a minor furor over an old Warner Bros cartoon that was being run at the beginning of some movies. An Arab group was upset because a character in a Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny cartoon portrayed Arabs in a bad light. I don't remember the name of the cartoon, but the offensive part was the Arab guy running around with a huge scimitar yelling "Hassan CHOP!!" trying to kill Bugs and Daffy.

"These stereotypes are ingrained when we're young. And what do kids watch? Cartoons," he said. "I know the adults are saying, 'Oh God, it's just Speedy Gonzales,' but these are impressions that are put in very early and very hard to pull out. I'm the last person to hold a sign for political correctness, but kids absorb this thing on a preconscious level."

What a bunch of hokum.

I remember watching all of these cartoons as a kid, uncut -- I never thought anything except that Speedy Gonzalez was fast and would always beat the "bad guy" in the end. The same thing goes for the black maid character in the old "Tom and Jerry" cartoons. As a kid, I only thought of her as the person who owned Tom, not as a black maid who owned Tom.

But for some reason, these liberals want to project their psychotic thinking onto children. Well guess what liberals -- I was a kid, I saw these cartoons, and I never thought anything of them except laughed at the dynamite gags and whatever other slapstick would appear.

Wow, I hadn't even thought of that...I was refering to the obvious slur using the word "Fat" to describe the weight challenged main character...=O)

I suppose Tom and Jerry will be killed by the PETA people who are upset that a person could own an animal.

OK, here's a trivia question for you:

What were the "civilian alter-egos" for each of the Mighty Heroes?

(Sorry, but you really got me started here.) <|:)~

Chip and Dale have always pissed me off........the polite little SOB's taught kiddies to be wimp's IMHO :o) And don't even get me started on the Heckel and Jeckel issues. Jesse Sharpton sorts didn't realize a cartoon was made about them 50 years ago ! Horrible, just horrible !!!!!

Whats next , Pinky and the Brain banished because of smart mouse defamation of logitech/microsoft product......

Stay Safe Lazzzz !

LOL. I know, I loved them, too. Most people I mention them to don't remember them.

Hahahaha. I had the same reaction when they came to mind this morning. I don't remember their alter egos, though.
