Does anyone of you old cartoon afficiannos remember a cartoon back in the sixties called "Rough&Ready."I vaguely remember that it was about a Cat&dog duo that were always getting invlved in some kind of farout situation. My brothers and myself never missed it.It's been 35 years or so,I'd love to find it on one of those cartoon networks sometime. It would bring back old memories. Do you mean

these guys?
Check 'em out ("Ruff & Reddy") HERE

Didn't Mel Blanc model Foghorn's voice after some Congressman of the 1940's or 50's -- was it House Speaker Sam Rayburn? According to "Foggy FAQ", "Why is he called Foghorn Leghorn? I've heard several reasons offered, and believe that all of these may be valid.
"(1) There is a variety of chicken called a Leghorn.
"(2) He's a loud-mouthed rooster, and a foghorn is known for its booming volume.
"(3) Foghorn and Leghorn sound good together.
"(4) His character is at least partially based on Senator Claghorn, from the Fred Allen radio show in the 1940s (played by Kenny Delmar). Note the similarity between the names Foghorn, Leghorn and Claghorn. To listen to some samples of this character (taken from actual radio broadcasts) select one of the items available here at Earthstation1 and note the similarity to Foghorn Leghorn. "

Wow man,I could barely remember what they looked like.Thanks.I never saw them in color. We had a B&W until I was 13.The Ol'Man was trying to raise 7 of us in those days.He couldn't afford a color TV.The first one was a big bulky used one where the colors rab together.I always thought the money he spent on repairing it would have bought a nice new one. Thanks again.

Number one super guy, indisputably.
Do you win?

Captain Caveman is offensive to cavemen around the world Captain Caveman is offensive b/c it was just a dumb cartoon.
However, while on the subject of classics, where's GI Joe and Transformers? Why doesn't Cartoon Network have them?

This is why I recently suggested a modification to copyright law that says that if you refuse access to a copyrighted work for five years, that work enters the public domain. That sounds like a great idea! It would have the benefit of keeping the Scientologists from hiding behind copyright laws as well.
To: Bars4Bill
Actually, it was modeled after a character on the Fred Allen radio show (not sure if Blanc did the voice for that also) called "Senator Claghorn".

Did I win? No. Am I on the right side? Yes. Winning would assume my buddy would concede his error; and unless Sid and Marty Krofts, Hanna Barbara, or whoever was responsible for the abomination that was Hong Kong Phooey came to my buddy's house, bought him a case of beer and presented him with the lyrics engraved on a plaque, he ain't giving in. This is my biggest Democrat buddy - he's good at blinding himself to reality. But every little bit helps - and he is yet to present any evidence for his case.
Maybe when OJ finds the real killers they will be singing the true lyrics. Thanks for the help Xen.

You two are Hong Kong Phooey pikers compared to

Hahahaha. Now I remember. Another of my favorites, but not animated, was Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. Witchy Poo was the best.

ONe of my co-workers remembered "Weatherman" for "Tornado Man" for me, AFTER I posted earlier. But I still hit 80%. :)
