A republic is a terrible thing to lose.
Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown

"What I can't figure out is why they even bothered to pass it knowing this."To set a precedent. Now that they have gotten away with a gross violation of their oath of office, the whole Bill of Rights is up for grabs.
The USSC may/will not always do the right thing, and our freedom is the casualty.
A lot of people I talk to think that the CFR disaster is no big deal, but my wish is that when our traitorous leadership is laughing about how they got away with hammering the first amendment, someone reminds them to read the next line down.

This country will become 3rd world if we obey these evil and unconstitutional laws like sheep. At the very least don't ascribe any innate moral value to this evil law the socialist won't. Conservatives play by the rules the Socialist don't no wonder we lose.

What really irritates me is, when I try to tell my fellow blue collar, co-workers about how much this bill infringes upon the constitution, I get " Yeah, ummhmm, Did ya see "Fear Factor" last night.
Being a newbie, I clearly see what the term "sheeple" means.

I may choose to break it myself, but I would never encourage anyone else to break it.
No encouragement needed, just let us know when and where ;-)

I didn't think I did: "A civil way to break the law is to do it publicly and to face the charges against you in a court of law to publicly challenge it's congruence with the true or natural justice of mankind...Just because one law is bad doesn't mean the others are too (though some of the others may be)."
Point being, throwing away all the law to rid ourselves of one bad one is to literally throw the baby out with the bath, as they say. This law is not in accord with true justice, I agree; nor is it prudent. But we must be careful when we challenge the law, lest we strip all law of its legitimacy in the minds of humanity.

We had better strip away respect of the law the law will be the whip that the evil communist hold over us sheep. Im finishing college getting rich quick( its not hard if your a miser like me) and moving to Russia personally. That country is on the right track its innoculated against communism by virtue of having communist rule in living memory and has a 13% flat tax.

its innoculated against communism "Communism" doesn't equal "evil"--if rulers could be trusted and were perfectly wise, it would be the best regime, but they can't and they aren't, so it's flawed. Evil people will find a way to use whatever is at hand (like a republic)...nod to the Russian mob...

No, friend. If we strip away the respect for law which reflects true justice to combat law which reflects partial interest or tyranny, we exchange one master for another, to no benefit. Law can be a good thing, but it requires people fit for it to be so. We must fight tyranny, not law--because once we abandon law, all that is left is tyranny or war...and what happens when the war is won, the tyrant is dead?

all they want the other warlords "subjects" to look on them as a liberator. Take a look at Plato's Republic Bk. VIII, or Strauss On Tyranny.

re #97 Thank you, harpseal. Please allow me to say ditto to that. I have nothing to add or subtract from your statement.
Thirty, please take a moment to read and reflect on what harpseal has said there. I guess I do have one more thing to say to you. I think it is time that we both consider more deeply what we post or say in public. Things have changed. If this bill is signed into law, for as long as it is law, this nation is no longer a free Republic it is a regime. We must act accordingly.
To: Pistias
I won't be reading Plato Plato advocated abolition of private property and "the Republic" so im told was a totalitarian state. He was the 1st communist IMHO.

When you donate money to a candidate, they do whatever it is they need to do with that money to get elected.
Why would anyone spend hard money for an issue ad?
Ask pro-lifers.

21st Century Committees of Correspondance seem in order. (Post #92)Inaction will have consequences as palpable as any action. (Post #97)
These statements bore repeating, IMO.

The internet will be next Jim. Once they manage to muzzle challengers to incumbents via broadcast media, they will turn their eyes on folks like thee and me. I guarantee it.
I am afraid you are right. Scary stuff coming from Washington...
