***Freeper Was Push Polled-Get over CFR-We are at war
Email sent to congressman Simmons | March 23, 2002 | VRWC_minion

Posted on 03/23/2002 4:34:33 AM PST by VRWC_minion

Mr Simmons,

This is to advise you about a push poll that was directed to me last night about 9pm in East Hampton. After establishing I was a likely voter, the oldest male and was a republican I was asked who I would vote for. After telling them the republican candidate most likely (because I don't know you because of redistricting) I was asked a series of questions which included (not exact wording) :

1. Simmons voted for 450 million in retro active tax benefits for Enron.

2. Simmons voted against school building.

3. Simmons voted against allowing us to sure HMO's and taking away benefits from elderly.

He then asked me would I still vote for Simmons. I told him his questions were based on flawed premises and that this was a push poll. I was surprised that he didn't tell me Simmons was an ax murderer but yes I will still vote for the ax murderer.

The contact person I was given for this poll is Amy Collier, 215-641-2200 ext 2247. I left her a message telling her the polling company was lower scum than Clinton.

I am angry about this call and am willing to offer whatever assistance I can to you in the upcoming election in East Hampton, please let me know what I can do to help.

Ray

They were structured to try and change my opinon.

Its WAY too early for push polls. They are used in conjunction with paid media and direct mail. The very fact that you ID'ed yourself as a republican shows me that it likely was NOT a push poll. They wouldnt waste their time on his base when CT has so many independent, liberal leaning voters. You're stuck on this idea I think because you like playing to the crowd here. Go have a drink and stay away from the computer for a few hours. You're embarrassing yourself.

Sometimes the truth is ugly. Try it some time.

The truth is ugly. The problem is, people who wear the libertarian ugly face are peering out from behind it. It is the rest of us who get to see it face-on in all its hideousness.

I emailed the accusation to a bunch of my friends.

I'm sure your pal George Soros will be grinning from ear to ear.

Hi Eagle,

I'd like to see someone challenge the RINOs that get elected in CT. I don't know if you know how difficult it is to get on the ticket if you're not endorsed by the GOP 'machine' here in CT, but it is next to impossible.

There are some great inroads being made in Town Committees and in challenging the party apparatus that I would be happy to fill you in on privately. I can also put you in touch with certain people that are leading the charge.

Freepmail me if you're interested.

VRWC_minion, please accept my apologies for the way this post has turned. I appreciate what you tried to do, and I'm sorry that the youngsters are stuck on their computers instead of playing outside.

I learned a long time ago that there are some people you just can't get to.

I agree with you completely. Fortunately, there are a few of us around here - you, me, Dane, Roscoe, CJ and Texasaggie who are willing to take the heat and hold a mirror up to their uglyness.

One last thing...that's funny you should mention New York. I just bought a substantial piece of land in NY, and may end up there.

My rationale is that CT is where they're all coming anyway, and we're becoming NY, so I might as well live in the original instead of just a copy. We do plan to move to a more conservative state, but our families are here, so we're going to stay close for a while.

As for Hillary, my wife and I gave the maximum hard money contributions to Lazio, and a huge amount in soft money. We're also going to be one of his charter contributors for his comeback race.

Now shut your big cake hole and go make some money so you can play with the big boys instead of shooting off your mouth.

Mr. Curry...I'll tell George Soros you said hello next time our cabal meets. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Translation: Well, once again I've taken an untenable position. Better ping my buddies so I can slink out the back door amid the ensuing chaos.

Oh how disingenious. You know he's not coming back. He made that annoucement days ago. The only thing worse than an ill informed libertarian is a lying libertarian. Have fun in Hillary land. Remember, she likes 2 creams with her tea.

Just got off phone call from Simmons campaign manager of one month. They are not doing push polling. Up until now they didn't even know who they were running against.

Based on my phone call they now know who they are running against--Courtney from Vernon. The guy was very thankfull for the heads up and forwarded my e-mail to Simmons.

Those are all HONORALBE posters here. I ping them to laugh at you as I would call my friends from the zoo to come down and watch the monkies fling their dung.

If you have $1000 (maybe you can cash in some of your comic books or pick up soda cans), I'll bet you a grand that he runs this time around.

He's holding out for one more thing, which the spineless jellyfish that run the party are going to have to give him.

Wanna bet, Mr. Big Mouth?

Uh huh. Wherever there's an indefensible position, I can count on you and your buddies to be there making a lot o noise to cover for the total lack of substance.

What a lie. They've known its going to be Courtney for months:

"In Connecticut, former state Rep. Joe Courtney (D) raised $137,000 in his challenge to Rep. Rob Simmons (R), who raked in $149,000 in the last six months of 2001. As of Dec. 31, Simmons had $337,000 left in his coffers, while Courtney had $122,000 ." LINK

You don't know anything about me. How dare you engage in unfounded name calling. Perhaps you should address the facts and not throw around insults.

That is his Modus Operandi...

Along with many other Myrmidons of the Right.

Just baseless insults towards anyone who does not blindly support anyone with an "R" next to thier name.

Oh, and Sonny...

The word you're looking for is not disingenious, it is disingenuous.

And amid the sea of disingenuity that is your postings, the most disingenuous is that a Liberatarian would vote for Hillary.

What part of HE IS NOT RUNNING do you not understand?

March 20, 2002, 11:07 AM EST ALBANY, N.Y. -- Rick Lazio, who gave up his Long Island congressional seat to unsuccessfully run against Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2000 Senate race, has told fellow Republicans he will not seek to reclaim that House seat this year, officials said Wednesday. LINK

I get the sincere feeling, if hillary were to change party affiliation to republican, you would become her greatest admirer.

After all, you have more or less admitted that you only look at the letter next to a candidate's name and not thier voting record.
