USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

I liked this picture of our troops jogging with their weapon in hand. Everyone here finds the best pictures. I always enjoy them.

Thanks for my Coast Guard education yesterday. I certainly needed it. And Tonk, thanks for your dedication and service to our country. I put my little boy in my lap when I read this board and show him all the neat pictures and explain the military and patriotism to him, the best I can.

Reagan bump! I need to get a picture of him to hang in my living room. :)

The picture of the Coast Guard boat with the moon behind it was beautiful. One of my favorites so far.

The picture on the right is a picture of you, right?
To: SAMWolf
Oh wow, more excellent photo's of our military. Thanks SAM.

Please take care of yourself. I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. :( Prayers and love sent your way.

I was wondering where you were. I've missed you. Hope your computer gets better soon. Hurry back.

I'm gonna meet Brownie and Meek before I leave too. They are my buddies. :)
This is true. Just gimme a ring............
I thought your plans had changed and you were stayin' now?
To: MeeknMing
Meek, we have no idea what we are doing basically. One day the news looks hopeful, then the next day it looks depressing. We know they will be keeping him till June at least. We are going to move down there anyway, because that's enough time to find a permanent job else where. We really liked the area and are ready for a change. Who knows Meek. God will put us where he wants us, but as of today, we are still moving. Don't know if I can say that a month from now.

G'mornin' SpookBrat. I think it's great that you put your little one on your lap to view the millitary photos posted here. I'm wondering the age of the little one.

Brunch will be served a little later. An assortment of sweet rolls and muffins, scrambled eggs, farm fresh sausage links, cottage fried potatoes, french toast w/warm maple syrup, an assortment of fruit w/lots of fresh pineapple, juice and coffee.
I've got a blister on my thumb from peeling all those potatoes, so I'm going to need some help washing the dishes.

That brunch sounds wonderful. I'm starved. My little spook is 6. He's the greatest. I have a 10 year old girl too, who likes to read this thread with me also. Maybe I'll have them post something some day. :)

You are right. Did my normal skeptical stealth arrival. Overwatch, obvservation, evaluate and repeat. Crept in, said hello and was immediately enveloped with kindness (and cyber food)...sadly shocking and refreshing in this day and age. I mean that in the good sense.
But yes, the lost art of courtesy is practiced here...by caring, smart, total spectrum people. Like the kinda neighbor hood you want to move into...never have to lock your door. What a concept...while everyone is tackling the psuedo complex issues of the day in the forum...I want an answer to that question...what has changed in the last 30 years that I now have to lock (bolt and barricade) my door? And better what is the plan to return to that way of life...or is there any going back?
One of the original Freepers, a true American Patriot, a hero of the highest order and my dear friend, Jim Siler (may he rest in peace) turned me on to this place. I get busy with work and my causes and don't post as much as I'd like to (horribly...painfully slow typer)but I do come here to read the news....atleast try to each day.
I didn't know Scott Speicher but I feel lkie I do. Several good friends, very credible people, no stalwarts are and have been egaged since the get go.
Anyway, that's my latest passion...once I get my arms around something its hard for me to let go.
Hey have a great day...its beautiful outside!
