Sarah clearly broke Federal law. Here my note to AG John Ashcroft:
Attorney General John Ashcroft,
I want to bring the illegal activity outlined in the following article to your attention for Federal prosecution.
The 4473 Federal form clearly asks if a firearm purchase is for the person filling out the form. The form also clearly states the legal consequences of lying on the form.
Sarah had to lie, to purchase the gun without also putting her son through the background check.
Sarah's life work is gun control, she, more than anyone should know this is against the law, there can be no excuse.
For you or me that's a 5 or 10 year felony. I want to be sure that Sarah is treated the same as any other criminal.
This is a straw man purchase; Sarah Brady is an illegal gunrunner.
Thank you for your attention to this criminal matter.

I then posted the NY Daily News Article.

Actually, I dont't think she broke federal law. Note 1 on Form 4473 says "You are also the acutal buyer if you are acquiring the firearm as a legitimate gift for a third party." See page 3 of form 4473 at the top under IMPORTANT NOTICES. She seems to have clearly violated Delaware law, however.

You are correct, mea culpa. I am amazed this exception "loophole" is allowed.

Metallica rules. We also have Leper Messiah here at FreeRepublic. They had a thread a long time ago about "liberal music" and someone said Metallica had liberal messages in their music. I almost puked. They are FAR from liberal in their lyrics.
And so you know, I am NOT "Small Hours." When someone said it should be posted at DU i went to look if it was. I do lurk there from time to time and there are some very strong ProGun posters over there. They are a definate minority, but they do exist. If i ever registered over there I wouldnt be able to control myself and would probably be banned in about 10 seconds.

Yes, Baker has been disappointing. Others have also. The "Nuge" is only one of many NRA Directors opposed to CARA. There was a list posted last week of NRA Board members that opposed CARA. Nordquist, etal. T. Nugent is one reason I still hang on to my Patron membership, and get kicked regularly for doing so, here on FR and elsewhere.Of course CARA is only one Title of ten within CARA. It's the way pols do business. However, it never ceases to amaze me how the Board seems to antagonize so many members, needlessly.
Just flipped the article to rush@eibnet.com and back it came "undeliverable." Maybe he has me "Blocked?" HA! Just like a couple of Gannett editors I know! Or DID know!

Close the Gift Loophole now! Let's call Sarah Brady to testify before Congress. She has first hand experience of how this loophole can be exploited.
To: Inspector Harry Callahan
Anti-gun control advocates were surprised to hear of Brady's foray into their world. Don't you love how they struggle and contort the English lanquage to make us the 'anti's'.
I'm not anti anything.
I'm pro 2nd Ammendment, I'm pro gun rights, I'm pro constitution, and yes, I'm pro life.
Why don't they call Sarah what she is, anti Constitution, anti second ammendment, anti gun rights. Of course she's also a hypocrite, a bone-headed chain smoker, and soon, she'll be remembered as just another 20th century crank, who sought to destroy America, by destroying our Constitution.

She may appear to have not broken federal law, but it seems pretty clear that she has violated State laws.
Prosecute her.

No Brady thread is complete without this:
To: RJL
The "actual buyer", according to the newest revision of form 4473, is the person signing the form themself. HOWEVER, they are also considered a lawful "actual buyer" if the firearm is to be a legal gift to a Third Party. See "Important Notice No. 1" on the 4473, it's there for all to see.
Since ol' Sarah failed to comply with Delaware State laws, can the BATF consider the gift "legal"?
Well, that's the thing about BATF... their regulations are so... fluid. She'll get a pass on a technical violation of the same sort that would result in any one of us being incarcerated for decades. No... Sarah won't feel the boot on *her* neck, no siree.
To: Phantom Lord
Well that all depends. I have no idea, but I am curious if she is a resident of the state of Delaware. If not, then there's your federal offense.

To: Phantom Lord
Agree wholeheartedly. I'm sure the BATF could find something to prosecute her for if they wanted to. Maybe bombmaking materials at her house?
