Pete Stark compares Republicans to Nazis (on the record)
Congressional Records ^ | 3/20/02 | Pete Stark

Posted on 03/22/2002 5:16:50 AM PST by soycd

Mr. STARK. Mr. Chairman, I yield myself 2\1/2\ minutes.
Mr. Chairman, there are some of us who remember this world in the 1930s, when Hitler suspended the Bundestag to promulgate conservative ideology and not let people speak. It is a shame that the Republicans in the House, Mr. Chairman, have taken up that same ideology and are denying a chance for debate and open discussion of a budget. It does smack of fascism; and it is too bad, because the American people will recognize that and understand that in a free economy, and in a free country that created programs like Social Security and Medicare and special education and aid for dependent children and aid for people who are unable to care for themselves, for the disabled, that to deny them care is obscene.

I think it will be quite clear that, for whatever reason, whether it is deficits or anything else, that the overwhelming desire of the Republican Party is to destroy programs in the Federal Government, except those few intended for the very wealthy.

I thought Stalin died in the 1950s. Apparently his spirit lives and breathes through this little croaking toad.

I had to stop right here as I guffawed when I read this. Conservative ideology? Excuse me?!? The Nazis were socialists. And last I checked, socialism was left-wing, not right-wing.

Re his comments about the Republicans refusing to permit debate and discussion, sort of like the Senate Dems did with the Pickering nomination in refusing to permit the full Senate to debate, discuss and vote. Why can't the Republicans turn the debate around instead of always playing defense?

The National SOCIALISTS Peoples Party (NAZI) was a CONSERVATIVE, RIGHT WING group?

One idiot, rabid DemocRAT supporter here at work tried that crap on me a couple of months ago. I simply pointed out to him that all socialist parties, by defenition, are left-wing parties. Just like the DemocRATS. He has never brought it up again.

Tell a lie long enough and everyone will come to believe it. Especially the voters.

True meaning is thus...

and in an overtaxed free country that created programs specifically designed to ensure votes for Democrats like Social Security which can be used to scare the elderly and infirm with cutting off their funds but which can also be used by Democrats to fund other social programs and Medicare Which Democrats can use to ensure even more elderly votes and other Democrat constituents that depend upon the Federal hand-out such as special education and aid for dependent children and aid for people who are unable to care for themselves, for the disabled, that to deny the Democrats the ability to buy their votes with tax dollars confiscated from productive Americans them care is obscene.

There, that's more truthful.

I will give him a little history lesson.

Whenever you hear the term N - A - Z - I; remember

It dervies from "National-Sozialistiche" German Workers Party.

In German, the acronym was NSDAP. It is totalitarian Communism with a nationalistic face.

You know, I've seen this canard posted so many times that I'm just tired of it.

The NDSAP WERE rabid social conservatives. So much so that they lurched over the edge into a racial purity mania that led to their destruction. That the Nazi's were economic socialists as well has little to do with their cultural viewpoints.

That said, someone needs to inform Rep. Stark of Godwin's law!

This idiot has no clue. Hitler was a Nazi, not a conservative. It was the conservative (primarily Prussian Generals) who had the guts to try to assassinate Hitler. They tried unsuccessfully at least 3 times.
