YES, there's nothing like a good U.S. peace-and-cease-fire initiative to ensure that a bunch of Jews get killed and injured. With two new suicide bombings in 18 hours' times adding 10 more Israelis dead and 100 injured to the death toll in the war with the Palestinians, the Israeli casualty count in just the first three months of 2002 now tops all of 2001.

Believe me, I think it is absolutely ludicrous for Bush (or any other government official) to tell Israel what to do. They have a right to defend themselves against attack just as we do. It seems to me that we actually tend to exacerbate the problem by trying to be a "peaceful mediator." Personally, I think Israel might fare better without our interference.

Send them to their Saudi pals Yes, the same Saudis who have ejected them from Saudi Arabia in the hopes that they will direct their anger back against Israel. Some pals.

"Your assumption that we would still be targeted by terrorists whether we stood by Israel or not is completely unfounded."sigh..... do you honestly believe that Muslems hate us because we support Israel? They hate us because our culture is different and more successful than theirs. They are afraid that our culture will assimlate theirs, and they have reason to be afraid. Western culture is spreading everywhere. Why? Because it is successful.
They would attack us even if Israel did not exist. I suppose you also believe that the terrorist attacks in the Philipines, and Chechnia, and Kosovo, and Macadonia, and Kashmir, and Algeria, and virtually everywhere else radical Islam comes into contact with a culture different than their own, is because of these countries frindship with Israel?
If you are anti Israel you should just admit that you are anti-semitic, don't try to make excuses. You shouldn't lie to yourself.

Depends on what you mean by "interference." Do you mean that we should step back from this absurd farce of a "peace process"? If so, then I agree. But if you mean that we should drop Israel and not give them public and moral support, then heartily disagree.

I thought it natural as Mecca is the true center of "The Religion of Peace"!

"If you are anti Israel you should just admit that you are anti-semitic, don't try to make excuses." I was wondering how long it would be before the "anti-semitic" charge was leveled at me. I guess that's what I get for putting American interests ahead of Israeli interests. If that's how you define it, then I must be an anti-semite.
PSSSSSSST! The Arabs are a semitic people, too. So if you're anti-Arab, just admit that you are anti-semitic.

"First they came for the Jews, and I did nothing because I am not Jewish..."
I am not Jewish and I served in the Israeli military. Our enemies are there enemies. They will come for us eventually (they somewhat already did on 9/11).

> O house of Judah, and house of Israel;
It is the house of Israel that is today paying the bills for the house of Judah. Just cousins helping cousins...

Watch out, the race-baitors of the Israel question are on to you.
With their very liberal passion, they hope to destroy common debate through the insinuation that any departure from their view is "racist"

Americas interests do come first Arab oil is more important than jewish lives thats evident in US foreign policy and if push came to shove the US is not going to send any troops if the arab world attacks it,I agree with you Israel should be totally self sufficient capable of making anything from a bullet to a jet fighter, theres no guarantee of US spare parts when a war starts there, and one will and they shouldn't rely on the US to help...theres a good chance it wont

Your assumption that we would still be targeted by terrorists whether we stood by Israel or not is completely unfounded. That is right on the money. So obvious a point really.

Any time you question American aid to Israel---watch out! Somebody is going to put the ant-semitic label on you. This tactic is working now, will it work in, say, the year 2015, with the demographic change that is sweeping across America? They're going to have to think of something more effective than that then.

"Any time you question American aid to Israel---watch out! Somebody is going to put the ant-semitic label on you." I also question American aid to Arab nations. I guess that makes me doubly anti-semitic!
To: sheltonmac
Yes, I guess it does. Imagine that, actually wanting Israel and countries like Egypt to pay their own way. Heresy!
