President Bush and First Lady Laura are on their way to Latin America for a four-day trip with visits to Mexico, Peru and El Salvador. In a stop-over in El Paso, TX, Bush spoke to a crowd about increasing security at our nation's borders. He also visited a local customs inspection area. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

No theory here Smith288. I have true faith the man will do the right thing. He was a wonderful, beloved gov. here in Texas and I KNOW HE'LL do the right thing. I JUST KNOW! But til then I too will hold any comment until Bush, (IF, and that's a big IF),signs the bill. Be patient my friend, and keep the faith! The RATS are having a hay day over us fighting and bashing Bush. DON'T GIVE THEM THE HONOR! SCREW THEM!

You know, I feel the same way. I still like Dubya as a man, however, I am very disappointed in his decision regarding CFR. He's still better than the alternative, Algoreloni.

I still have my sticker too. I just think he needs to veto the bill. He said he would multiple times during the campaign. I know because I have it on tape!! Signing it would be a direct violation of his own campaign promises, whether or not the SCOTUS strikes it down or not.

Ready and willing! It's funny - because I just came from dinner and an hour long conversation about CFR. And I have to say, I'm with the Bush optimists on this one. I didn't vote for him because I thought I'd agree with everything he ever did as President. I voted for him because I trust his judgement.

It will be a non-issue in no time? That may be so as far as the public goes. I don't care about politics or public opinion. I care about the Constitution and men who will protect it. I'm sorry if you don't think this is an original idea. It certainly isn't the "popular" stance these day...

Would it be too much to ask if you WAITED until he actually DOES something and LISTEN to what he SAYS when he does it?

I suppose.

I think the reason so many of us are pissed off is because he has promised two different things. During the campaign he promised to veto the bill if his requirements were not met. Last week, he promised to sign the bill, even though it DOES NOT meet those requirements.

At this point, whether he signs it or vetos it he will have broken his own word... Am I crazy or not?

I've been saying basically what you said on other threads today. When you see our wonderful president, it is amazing how hateful and short sighted some can be. I don't see President Bush's horns in any of the pictures- guess I just see a terrific Commander in Chief and a tax cutting, Kyoto tossing, missile defensing, estate tax dropping, military pay raising,border tightening, education reforming, social security privatizing, dignity and honor restoring president.

There are two ways to respond to this cogent comment.

1. Who doesn't look good compared to the last first whatever-she-was?.....and....

2. IMO, Laura looks better than any other First Lady......ever!!

Hey mystery-ak. I agree with you. FR has lately become such a vile vortex of hatred and name calling, that I am at a loss as to what to think. Is this the norm? Is this what conservatives/Republicans/libertarians are really like underneath? If so, we are no better than the liberals we readily accuse of being disgusting.

Folks, SOMEHOW, I wish I knew for sure, BUT I'm sure that some of his staff lurks around here. How do I know, BECAUSE, Let's Roll were the first fighting motto words the freepers used when we heard about the plane and it's heroes! W used it in one of his famous speeches right after it was popular first here on FR than anywhere else. I have a gut feeling he knows that we here in FR are extremely upset over this stupid bill. I bet someone very close to him in his staff is a lurker and has brought it to his attention. What better place to read news articles from accros the nation in one website than here on FR. THINK ABOUT! :)
