Bizarre case, and Neil Cavuto has Greta Van Cistern as commentator. If you can handle that, tune in to FNC and see what the verdict is...

How did the defense attorney try to exploit it? (I didn't follow the trial.)
To: Bella_Bru
No kidding. I have no idea why anyone would want to shove a dog like that into an apartment And Marjorie was out walking them on that day because they had diarrhea. Ugh...can you even imagine?

I suspect it may have been the "crazy lawyer" defense at work---Reverse my conviction because my lawyer was one crazy s.o.b.
To: Eva
I've read on here why they adopted him, but cannot recall; maybe some kind soul will come along and tell us.

We shall see if they waive attorney-client privilege.

A married couple were charged--Tuesday, I do believe--with murder in Mauston, Wisconsin for the death of a small child at the hands of their eight Rottweilers. The sexuality of the child or the accused had nothing to do with the charges.
This was a jury from Los Angeles, not San Francisco, and yet they were able to find the slimeballs guilty of all counts, no matter how many red herrings the defense attorney was able to drag across the courtroom. To me, it's a side issue and not relevant to the case.

I did focus on the CRIME! I was there when the damned crime took place! I agree 100% with the verdicts! To question the political make up of SF does not undermine the victim, that is a fools argument.

Do you remember the reason they adopted their client?

Actually the breed is gaining huge popularity based on this case alone ... people want to own the most vicious breed available. 'Think of a dog like a hand gun' is the mentality.
To: Saundra Duffy
The sex with dogs stuff would have propelled the case on to every paper in America.
I'm glad they could convict the perverts and keep it quiet to one magazine article.

conviction because my lawyer was one crazy s.o.b. Given that both the convicted ones were lawyers, I think they'll have a tough time arguing they couldn't evaluate the quality of their defense...

And Marjorie was out walking them on that day because they had diarrhea. Ugh...can you even imagine? Thanks for the visual.....

I have seen many vicious dogs in my life, and some that were attacking people. I have never seen a dog that could not be pulled off the victim by the dog's owner. Most even responded to the voice commands of their owners.
That is why I believe the woman was culpable. The husband .... I don't know. The loaded-gun-left-in-the-house analogies make me feel uneasy. Thene again, if he trained the dogs to attack people ...

What about the fact that the trial was held in L.A.?
To: Eva
There were also ties to neo-Nazi groups if I remember the magazine piece.

To question the political make up of SF does not undermine the victim, that is a fools argument. I totally agree; then why are so many people bringing it up, if not to bang on their own prejudices?
To: Catspaw
I absolutely AGREE it was irrellevant to the case.... sigh...
I agree with the verdicts
I don't know why I bother articulating a question....

Oh, if you had watched this incredibly bizarro defense attorney, her argument (one she's made repeatedly, in court & on TV) was that the reason that her client (Knoller) was charged was because of the gay community in San Francisco. This was also her excuse for Knoller's high bail...and oh, the prosecutor's gay, too & was catering to the gay community. That these dogs tore out the throat of the victim had nothing do it with it, in her febrile mind.
Robert Noel's lawyer did the smart thing--he shut up.

Good news. She deserves prison.
One question: Will she get conjugal visits...with the dog?

Something about in close quarters of an apartment that particular rare expensive breed of dog would be more attune to Marjorie's smell and would more able to perform the sexual act.
As far as I am concerned the husband should at least 15 years with Marjorie, he is just as sick watching this stuff..
