This has gone far beyond absurd. I understand the differences in legal systems and the fact that Maher doesn't have a constitutional right to a speedy trial like we enjoy here.
But this is completely unfair under any reasonable analysis.
Raise that point in another 800 days or so, and you're talking apples to apples.
One of my dear friends is a very good friend (20+ yrs) with one of your lifelong buddies. My dear friend has even talked to you on the phone. For this reason, I feel like I 'know you,' at least in some small, indirect way. But more importantly, because of these above relationships, I know beyond a doubt, proof positive that you are genuinely a trustworthy, kind-hearted, and honorable man. I know that you are a man of honor who loves his fellow man. Please do what you can to bring Ted home. Thank you.
I'm sure this entire thing must be embarrassing for Monaco; they've dug quite a hole for themselves, haven't they? It's not exactly like they can just let him go and still save face, but at least they could give the man a trial and stop stalling. His kids need him home.
