Ted Maher -- former Special Forces; Neonatal Intensive Care nurse
American Green Beret veteran and accomplished neonatal nurse Ted Maher has now been held 537 days without trial in Monaco's prison on trumped-up and false charges -- charges of causing the deaths of billionaire banker Edmond Safra and Ted's fellow nurse, Vivian Torrente on December 3, 1999. In truth, Ted fought valiantly against two armed, masked intruders to defend Edmond and Vivian and save their lives. During the struggle, Ted suffered severe knife wounds that required one hundred staples to close.
Billionaire banker Edmond Safra was cooperating with the FBI, who was investigating the IMF/Russian loans. Needing a convenient scapegoat for the murder of Safra, Monaco police subjected Ted to three days of grueling torture designed to extort a false confession from him. (see description in "BASIC TIMELINE" in Thread 1 - http://206.112.97.70/forum/a3ad8b097272d.htm ).
Monaco continues to hold Ted incommunicado, preventing him from sending or receiving mail. In fact, they restrict his communication with his family to one telephone call a week. This call is only allowed to last a few minutes and is always monitored closely to prevent any discussion of the case. Ted is forced by his jailers to take a psychotropic medication and is regularly "interrogated" by the Monaco judge -- Patricia Richet. Reports have been received that Judge Richet is a violent person who has displayed unstable behavior in the past. She allegedly has a history of assaulting a fellow judge, putting him in the hospital for a week. She also tears up letters from Ted's children in front of Ted rather than let him read them.
Hundreds of family, friends, work associates, parents of patients, and Army veterans who served with Ted have vouched for him as being a loyal husband, loving father, and an exemplary professional of great skill and compassion. Ted has also been defended by then-chairman of the House International Relations Committee Ben Gilman and Ted's congresswoman Sue Kelly, who have written Prince Rainier III of Monaco on Ted's behalf. Monaco has no evidence of any crime by Ted; they have no witnesses and no credible case against him. Even worse, Monaco has planted false evidence and suppressed vast amounts of exculpatory evidence -- even passing a special Monaco law that enables them to hold Ted four years without trial.
The Geneva prosecutor has said that Safra was killed for his cooperation with the FBI regarding the laundering through Safra's Republic National Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.
Regardless of the reason "why," it is obvious that Ted Maher is a scapegoat for a murder by others. We are working to obtain his release and to correct the grave injustice being done to an American Green beret veteran and medical professional.
Ted Maher -- a giver of life, not a taker -- needs our help.

Monaco is enjoying this whole thing. They have everything under control and have had from the beginning. At least that is what Monaco believes.
There were tapes from that night. The police made them disappear. There were radio tapes from the police heard from that morning. They stated how Mr. Safra was shot three times. Sonia was choked to death. Monaco keeps making the statement that Ted started the fire.
If the burglar alarm does not work (ordered off in July of 1999) what should a person do? Ted did the correct thing - he took a wastebasket with a candle in it and got the smoke alarm to go off. A contained fire would not turn into a violent fire as stated in the fire report (and the fire report states there were two violent fires in different areas).
Why does all the papers state Ted started the fire? He did not start the fire - he had a confined fire which probably went out a few minutes after he went downstairs with the knife wounds.
The knife wounds were not self-inflicted as Monaco would like everyone to believe. He needed many stitches and in the report to Sue Kelly, it states that Ted needed transfusions. Then why was it reported in the papers that they were superficial wounds? Everything that Monaco has stated about this case has been lies and most can be proven to be lies if they show the evidence.
In the trial, they are not allowing the hospital personnel or the hospital reports as evidence. Why - because it shows Ted was seriously injured and that the injuries were not self inflicted. The DNA shows that a male was PRESENT IN THE ROOM WITH MR. SAFRA AND VIVIAN TORRENTE but proves it was not Ted. The DNA was from under Safra's nails and Vivian Torrente's neck. This is not allowed at the trial. Also the autopsy is not allowed. I doubt there is even an autopsy or it has been falsified. FALSIFIED JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER EVIDENCE IN THIS CASE.
Serdet stated that Ted was on drugs - reports sent to the family state that drugs - negative, alcohol - negative. Serdet YOU LIE!!!!! MONACO - YOU LIE!!!!!!!!
PRINCE RANIER - You had Prince Albert flown out of the country that morning - Why?? Because you thought he would be killed. YOU ARE LETTING AN INNOCENT MAN TAKE THE BLAME FOR THE MURDER BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO THINK MONACO HAS PROBLEMS WITH CRIME. Shame on you. Can you live with yourself knowing you have allowed this? You are near the end of your life - is this the way you want to leave this earth? Do you think you could be forgiven by God for doing and allowing this to happen to an innocent man? What will history books write about you in regard to what you have permitted to happen in Monaco? Do you run the country or are you a puppet to these corrupt individuals that are running this show? I think we all know the answer to that question.
The history books will write about the corrupt Monaco and how the Criminal sector of the country runs it and allows the criminals to commit crimes and get away with it and how they use an innocent person as a scapegoat.
The evidence is all there for everyone to read. Read it Prince Ranier and then FREE THIS INNOCENT MAN. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU IN MONACO FOR ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN TO AN INNOCENT MAN. Go to church and pray for Monaco. Pray for forgiveness.

Hadn't thought of it that way AP. It might be the only way "The Media" ever cover the story.
When is the trial? or are they still just keeping him locked up 'awaiting trail'.
Lets get this over with.
The knife wounds WERE NOT SELF-INFLICTED. Serdet lied about that as he did about the drugs. They stated that he lifted his pants leg to knife himself as well as his shirt to knife himself in the stomach and side. Here are the true facts - Where are the clothes that he wore that night? They destroyed them and show a clean jump suit. Why did they do this? Because it shows clearly that the knife went through his clothes. There are pictures of the wounds. No nurse would knife himself in the stomach region and as deep as they were - it might have killed him. Also the wounds would be hard to do if you are left handed as Ted is. That was one thing they forgot when they made the statement. When Mr. Griffith took pictures of the wounds of Ted, he was reprimanded by Monaco and is not allowed in to see Ted now unless he has one of the Monaco lawyers present. Now why would Monaco want to keep the pictures away from the media? The answer is easy - if any expert looked at the pictures and knew that Ted's left handed they would state that they were NOT SELF INFLICTED.
Monaco is not going to bring that up at the trial, nor have any hospital personnel testify at the trial.
YES THE CONFESSION IS TOTAL HORSEFEATHERS. Ted was not even scheduled to work that night. At the last moment he and Vivian was pencilled in by Sonia and with the okay from Lily Safra. Lily Safra was also the one that told the guards they did not have to be on that night. This was the one and only time they were left off. Both Vivian and Ted were hired at the same time (probably hired to be the scapegoats for this and both were probably supposed to be killed). With the above information, would you say this was a well planned thing? Monaco has made reference to a well planned idea. I don't think anyone would do something on a night that he wasn't even scheduled to work. I think it was well planned out but not by Ted Maher. I would say the two that pencilled in Ted and Vivian may have had a part and one of them was the one that left the guards go that night.
Who ordered the burglar alarm off in July of 1999? I am sure that Edmond Safra did not. Contrary to what Lily Safra states, Mr. Safra woke up screaming at nights because he dreamed of terrorists coming and killing him. She made this statement in a paper - yet they lived in different wings of the house. How would she know what he did at night?
Isn't it amazing that Monaco doesn't question the above. Ted's lawyers don't question it either. No one in Monaco questions anything. They tell Ted what he must say and do not allow any evidence that shows his innocense.
Monaco has not set a date for the trial. They are trying to figure out how to have a trial without people there, without the true evidence, without a defense for Ted and then put Ted away for life. Right now it looks like it may be in September but they will probably prolong it. They always have an excuse why a court hearing does not happen. Ted's own defense lawyer cannot be present for the one scheduled this month so it will be prolonged for several more weeks. It goes on and on without an ending. If Monaco had any evidence against Ted, they would have had a trial a long time ago. NO FIRE IN A WASTEBASKET WOULD TURN VIOLENT AND MAKE FIRES IN TWO PLACES - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. ALL LIES FROM MONACO.
