Ted Maher -- former Special Forces; Neonatal Intensive Care nurse
American Green Beret veteran and accomplished neonatal nurse Ted Maher has now been held 537 days without trial in Monaco's prison on trumped-up and false charges -- charges of causing the deaths of billionaire banker Edmond Safra and Ted's fellow nurse, Vivian Torrente on December 3, 1999. In truth, Ted fought valiantly against two armed, masked intruders to defend Edmond and Vivian and save their lives. During the struggle, Ted suffered severe knife wounds that required one hundred staples to close.
Billionaire banker Edmond Safra was cooperating with the FBI, who was investigating the IMF/Russian loans. Needing a convenient scapegoat for the murder of Safra, Monaco police subjected Ted to three days of grueling torture designed to extort a false confession from him. (see description in "BASIC TIMELINE" in Thread 1 - http://206.112.97.70/forum/a3ad8b097272d.htm ).
Monaco continues to hold Ted incommunicado, preventing him from sending or receiving mail. In fact, they restrict his communication with his family to one telephone call a week. This call is only allowed to last a few minutes and is always monitored closely to prevent any discussion of the case. Ted is forced by his jailers to take a psychotropic medication and is regularly "interrogated" by the Monaco judge -- Patricia Richet. Reports have been received that Judge Richet is a violent person who has displayed unstable behavior in the past. She allegedly has a history of assaulting a fellow judge, putting him in the hospital for a week. She also tears up letters from Ted's children in front of Ted rather than let him read them.
Hundreds of family, friends, work associates, parents of patients, and Army veterans who served with Ted have vouched for him as being a loyal husband, loving father, and an exemplary professional of great skill and compassion. Ted has also been defended by then-chairman of the House International Relations Committee Ben Gilman and Ted's congresswoman Sue Kelly, who have written Prince Rainier III of Monaco on Ted's behalf. Monaco has no evidence of any crime by Ted; they have no witnesses and no credible case against him. Even worse, Monaco has planted false evidence and suppressed vast amounts of exculpatory evidence -- even passing a special Monaco law that enables them to hold Ted four years without trial.
The Geneva prosecutor has said that Safra was killed for his cooperation with the FBI regarding the laundering through Safra's Republic National Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.
Regardless of the reason "why," it is obvious that Ted Maher is a scapegoat for a murder by others. We are working to obtain his release and to correct the grave injustice being done to an American Green beret veteran and medical professional.
Ted Maher -- a giver of life, not a taker -- needs our help.

Ted tried to get the Monaco police to respond to the two armed, hooded intruders.
Let's look at the police emergency call tapes--oh, the police "lost" just that one tape.
Let's look at the penthouse security camera tape--since extensive renovations produced a Certificate of Occupancy July 1, 1999.
No go: the penthouse security camera "was not operative".
Well, let's ask the extensive Safra security team what they saw--
Whoops. Lily sent all the security team away.
Well, let's look at the fire report.
Except that Sonia (Lily's paid-off agent) says three different things in three depositions.
Now if there were burglars, why didn't the burglar alarm go off?
Because Lily had it disconnected July 1, 1999--per the head of Monaco Securite's deposition.
Well, if Monaco prosecutor Daniel Serdet says Ted was on drugs, what do the tests show?
Princess Grace Memorial tested Ted for drugs and alcohol with results "negatif negatif negatif"--
B-but the fire report?
Says "multiple points of ignition"--never admitted to by Ted--even under threats and duress over three days-- And, it says "sudden conflagration at 6 a.m."--an hour after Ted was rushed to the hospital.
And it was Lily changed Edmond's will to her benefit--
And Lily changed Edmond and her citizenship to keep the investigation controlled by Monaco--
And cremated Edmond and buried him in Switzerland--not Israel as he'd always wanted.
And paid off Sonia with $100,000.
And paid Vivian's husband $2,000,000 to avoid an insurance investigation.
Lily's second husband Alfredo "Freddy" Monteverde shot himself TWICE IN THE HEART in 1976 in Brazil to leave her 210 million.
How tragic that she should lose another rich husband.
And when Ted's original clothes showed blood and cuts the police substituted new clothes--a jogging suit not allowed on staff.
And planted Lidocaine--but a SEALED bottle with label in FRENCH which Ted does not read, write or speak--
and these so-efficient police refused to test the bottle for fingerprints or trace it to see who bought it--
Planted evidence--no wonder Monaco stalled for three years.
Gagging Ted--not a word has he been allowed to speak or write which isn't first monitored and censored and if necessary fabricated.
Thus Monaco has a cover up headed for its kangaroo court.
Nothing to see here, it's just Stalin and Mao and Kafka toying with their victim.
Monaco violates its own law by barring Griffith from defending Ted.
Monaco violates its own law by holding Ted having interrogated him by magistrate without attorney present.
Monaco violates its own law by intercepting client-attorney correspondence.
Monaco has suppressed exculpatory evidence and manufactured incriminating evidence.
When a family member brought up these objections Manasse threatened to sue.
Think about it: Ted's so-called "defense" lawyer threatened to sue a member of Ted's family.
Manasse has stated his role in this is to keep Monaco from looking bad.

With such a "defense" attorney, Monaco hardly needs its lying prosecutor Daniel Serdet.
Serdet makes it up as he goes along--Serdet lied that Ted was on drugs--
Never mind Princess Grace Memorial Hospital tested Ted with results negatif negatif negatif for drugs and alcohol--
The case judge d'instruction for the first two and a half years Patricia Richet screamed at Ted:
"I know you will be found guilty!" while tearing up letters from Ted's children.
Ted didn't cause "the sudden conflagration at 6 a.m." noted in the fire report--
He was getting 100 staples and numerous defense wounds in the hospital and had been there for an hour--
Monaco, where the truth is a stranger just as in Stalin and Mao's police states.

Prince Albert seeking NFL Europe in Monaco

Good ol' smashmouth football in Monte Carlo? It could happen.
Prince Albert of Monaco has approached the NFL about putting a franchise in the Mediterranean principality, best known as a playground for Europe's wealthy.
"It would appear there is a door open there," said NFL Europe spokesman David Tossell.
Tossell said any expansion in the NFL's six-team development league was several years away, perhaps 2005. He said Monte Carlo was among the candidates, along with Madrid, Spain; Lyon, France; and perhaps a city in Germany, which already has three teams in the league.
Prince Albert, heir to the throne held by his father, Prince Rainier III, is a member of the International Olympic Committee and has competed in five Winter Olympics in bobsled.
He suggested the "Monte Carlo Pirates" as a name for the expansion team.
NFL Europe will have teams next season in Barcelona, Spain; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Glasgow, Scotland; and Berlin, Frankfurt and Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
