Ted Maher -- former Special Forces; Neonatal Intensive Care nurse
American Green Beret veteran and accomplished neonatal nurse Ted Maher has now been held 537 days without trial in Monaco's prison on trumped-up and false charges -- charges of causing the deaths of billionaire banker Edmond Safra and Ted's fellow nurse, Vivian Torrente on December 3, 1999. In truth, Ted fought valiantly against two armed, masked intruders to defend Edmond and Vivian and save their lives. During the struggle, Ted suffered severe knife wounds that required one hundred staples to close.
Billionaire banker Edmond Safra was cooperating with the FBI, who was investigating the IMF/Russian loans. Needing a convenient scapegoat for the murder of Safra, Monaco police subjected Ted to three days of grueling torture designed to extort a false confession from him. (see description in "BASIC TIMELINE" in Thread 1 - http://206.112.97.70/forum/a3ad8b097272d.htm ).
Monaco continues to hold Ted incommunicado, preventing him from sending or receiving mail. In fact, they restrict his communication with his family to one telephone call a week. This call is only allowed to last a few minutes and is always monitored closely to prevent any discussion of the case. Ted is forced by his jailers to take a psychotropic medication and is regularly "interrogated" by the Monaco judge -- Patricia Richet. Reports have been received that Judge Richet is a violent person who has displayed unstable behavior in the past. She allegedly has a history of assaulting a fellow judge, putting him in the hospital for a week. She also tears up letters from Ted's children in front of Ted rather than let him read them.
Hundreds of family, friends, work associates, parents of patients, and Army veterans who served with Ted have vouched for him as being a loyal husband, loving father, and an exemplary professional of great skill and compassion. Ted has also been defended by then-chairman of the House International Relations Committee Ben Gilman and Ted's congresswoman Sue Kelly, who have written Prince Rainier III of Monaco on Ted's behalf. Monaco has no evidence of any crime by Ted; they have no witnesses and no credible case against him. Even worse, Monaco has planted false evidence and suppressed vast amounts of exculpatory evidence -- even passing a special Monaco law that enables them to hold Ted four years without trial.
The Geneva prosecutor has said that Safra was killed for his cooperation with the FBI regarding the laundering through Safra's Republic National Bank of $4.8 billion in IMF loans to Russia.
Regardless of the reason "why," it is obvious that Ted Maher is a scapegoat for a murder by others. We are working to obtain his release and to correct the grave injustice being done to an American Green beret veteran and medical professional.
Ted Maher -- a giver of life, not a taker -- needs our help.

Not to put too fine a point on it:
Monaco prosecutor Daniel Serdet lied that Ted was using drugs--
This was refuted by Princess Grace Memorial Hospital's toxicology tests for drugs and alcohol--

Monaco never lets facts get in the way of its coverup--
Its crack police managed to "lose" the emergency call tape for just the fatal night of the 3d, yet has the tapes for the 2d and the 4th--
The same police who beat Ted during their three-day interrogation, threatening his wife whom they kidnapped--
That kidnapping is the subject of a letter of protest by Michael J. Griffith to the U.S. Consul in Marseilles--
Griffith has Mark Kurzmann handling his suit against Lily for her part in that--
And the lidocaine planted in Ted's room--Ted wanted it traced, and tested for fingerprints--
But the police CREATE the coverup--they don't UNcreate it--
Of course the bottle was labeled in French which Ted doesn't read, write or speak--
And it was SEALED--
And it didn't bear his prints and wasn't traceable to him in any way--more likely to Lily's nursing supervisor in charge of ordering, Sonia Casiano-Herkrath--
To whom Lily paid $100,000 in "confidentiality fee"--
Where are the REAL clothes Ted wore that night with the cuts and the blood?
Why did the police destroy them and supply brand-new uncut, unstained jogging clothes?
Particularly since Ted was not allowed to wear such attire per the dress code for the staff--
And of course Ted and Vivian were pencilled in at the last minute--Heidi has the schedule--
Pencilled in by Sonia--of course--who is the ONLY witness to the supposed phone calls establishing the status of Edmond and Vivian--
Yet how was Vivian strangled when Edmond was in his weakened state with Parkinson's?
And how came his blood/DNA to be spattered on her?
There is little if anything in print about this case which is the truth.
Three years of isolation and gagging, covering up, on top of three days of extorting a false confession--
All for Monaco's Stalinesque show trial.

Ted reported two attackers entered the penthouse and police failed to respond.
Only after the police held Ted in four-point restraint, catheterized, sleep-deprived, and threatened with his wife's indefinite detention, strip-searching and torture--
--and the display of the secretly-taken photos and secretly-recorded tapes of the couple's three children did Ted sign the police-prepared false confession in French which he does not read, write or speak.
For three years Donald A. Manasse, the Monaco-paid pre-tend de-fender who practices at the pleasure of the Prince, has pressured Ted to adhere to the false confession.
Ted has been denied uncensored mail service, unmonitored phone communication, any visitors not accompanied by Manasse.
Nothing in print claiming to have been said by Ted is uncensored, unedited, uncoerced.
As Ted said to the U.S. Consul Patricia L. Feitz on December 8, 1999, "What I do, I do for the safety of my family."
Monaco has not produced any cell phone records to corroborate the three contradictory depositions of Sonia Casiano-Herkrath--
--whose story continues after three years to change--
It will be remembered that Sonia was paid $100,000 in "confidentiality agreement" by Lily--
The widow who changed the will to her benefit--
--who changed Edmond and her citizenship the day of his death--
--who, per Israeli journalist Boaz Bismuth to DatelineNBC's Sara James, sent the entire security team to La Leopolda--
--who had Edmond cremated thereby destroying forensic evidence--
--who had Edmond buried not in Israel as he wanted all his life, but in Switzerland complicating exhumation--
--who is the defendant in a suit by Michael Griffith's partner Howard Kurzmann for the kidnapping of Heidi and her brother--
And is it not rich that Kurzmann's car was burgled when it contained documents relating to that suit?
The Monaco cover-up rolls on, ignoring the evidence of its own fire report.
The "sudden conflagration at 6 a.m.", an hour after Ted was rushed to the hospital--
The multiple sources of ignition never under any circumstances admitted to by Ted--
How odd that the burglar alarm was disconnected July 1, 1999, per the deposition of the head of Monaco Securite--
That wasn't done by Ted.
Ted didn't set the multiple fires.
Ted didn't change the will, pay off the head nurse, send the security team away--
Ted wasn't the last to speak with Edmond and Vivian--
Ted didn't "lose" the police emergency tape for JUST the one day, the 3d of December--
And the prosecutor Daniel Serdet is a liar--Ted didn't use drugs--the hospital said so--
But Monaco wants you to believe its lies and ignore your eyes.
Monaco, let Ted come home to his family now!
