Mexico doesnt vote over here, Immigrants do. Families of Mexicans who go back and forth across the border do. Bush stated his intentions; and the DEMS stopped it. That is all that matters to the hispanic electorate in THIS country.

Political reality is Byrd got some nasty calls from home on this one. This is not New York or Texas this is West Virginia. The state with closed steel mills and coal mines that are being undercut by imports. For Byrd it's political survival for Bush it's pandering. Byrd does have a somewhat strong record defending his state on imports and trade policies. About once a year Byrd puts up a good fight and is right when he does. Came early this year I guess.

I'll bet he honestly thinks amnesty is a bad idea but will be convinced to change his mind. Huh??? .. Bryd is one of the biggest racist in the Senate .. he would never let this pass his desk for a vote ..

Do you even know any legal Hispanic voters in this country?
You care to rephrase that? I would hate to think you meant that.
I doubt he meant that every Hispanic in the country is illegal. That's absurd.
But every citizen Hispanic and every legal Hispanic in this country has good reason to oppose any sort of amnesty. Who do you think suffers most from illegals? The people who have to compete with illegal labor!

No. Bush has "cheered on" Ted Kennedy, loudly and proudly in a national speech, what does that make him? Smarter than Uncle Teddy .. the Dems are complaiing about the Education Bill .. but they forget one thing .. It's Uncle Teddy's Education Bill
Which means they are attacking their own agenda/ideas ...

Bless your heart Robert Byrd. Help us kill it and we'll let W. Va get all the pork you ask for!I'd rather have citizenship for workers than pork-barrel politics.
