Sen. Robert C. Byrd, West Virginia Democrat, yesterday said he will delay passage of border-security legislation because it now contains a provision of amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants.

Who says that Bush won't get the Vouchers passed through the Congress??
Sometimes to reach a goal, one needs to take baby steps
Give you an example .. The tax cut .. Bush didn't get everything he wanted the first time around .. But that doesn't mean he can't try again
And Gee I'm sitting here watching the News and what is he doing now .. Pushing for more tax cuts..
Don't give up so easily
This is not a strategy; Bush truly wants this amnesty deal and many more like it. He pushed it through the house against the wishes of the American people and many Republican congressmen. Bush will pay dearly for this "strategy" in 2004. He's toast!
He is using the Senate as a tool in the media to play a part in the shaping of issues for November.
While on one hand, we have Senator Byrd, who couldn't see a President breaking the laws of this country, urinating all over the Constitution of the United States, engaging in RACIST activities while in the KKK, on the other hand he sits there and pounds his fist about sending back families to other countries because we "can't handle the workload we have now in the INS" and he wants them to "start all over again". So, how long do you think it will be until the INS actually ships these people out, who's gonna pay for it, and who is going to "fix" the INS? And guess what? If you don't want to vote for Bush next time DON'T.
Dane....you see the argument put forth by Innocentbystander. It was an excellent one that I think will end up kicking the rats in the rear end. Every single one of us came here via some other country. The only difference between then and now is a bunch of red tape.
"Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then!"
The only "Amnesty Trojan Horse" is being floated here by third party Freepers.
On #196 you called it a mini-amnesty, now you're back to "Amnesty".
The intended immigrants came here legally, and they are only being given the opportunity to re-register because the INS is inefficient and corrupt.
Again, I'm just looking for the brilliance...
If Latinos flock to the GOP because the Democrats voted against Amnesty...
What will the RINOs have to give them to stay?
Or is this a "Double-Secret Brilliant Plan" that I'm to dense to bother having explained?
The same things that have caused you to vote Repub. all your life.
Less taxes
Right to Worship
Fight abortion
Gun freedom...etc.
Why do you assume they have their hands out?
Seems you and yours are doing the begging, just in poem form. ;)
BTW, what Bush SAYS means NOTHING, it was he does that means SOMETHING!
I used the phrase "mini-amnesty" to head off the obfuscations of the "no blanket Amnesty" straw man brigade. A mini-amnesty is still an Amnesty.
The intended immigrants came here legally, and they are only being given the opportunity to re-register because the INS is inefficient and corrupt.
Sorry, no. The "intended immigrants" are Illegals.Read the legislation here...
AMNESTY by BUSH
The Truth About Section 245(i)
Obviously, you don't understand the legislation.
What will Bush reward you with for your loyal service to king George?
Sabertooth..you read innocentbystander's post, figure it out. I'm not going to sit here and scroll down through the posts for you.
Rickyj...you are even less clever than I thought. By calling me a "Bushbot", you just gave yourself away.
Stick to the facts, it always works, and you don't need to ping me again, because I won't answer. I don't play games. If you wanted to have an intelligent conversation, that's fine. But see, you resorted to namecalling, and kids do that...not adults. Grow up, and when you do, I'll still be here.
It's been posted 1,000 times in the last week and we all know your position.
They came here legally, then the INS screwed up their paperwork.
Therefore, working or returning home became a violation of their status.
That is the INS' fault.
Mini-amnesty now huh?
Yet your most recent thread is titled "Amnesty by Bush".
Are you a cloaked third party guy, or what?
Oh, like I reaaly care what a Bushbot thinks of me. LOL!
