Sheriff says 'gun nut' concealing the truth
Tri-Valley Herald ^ | 17 March 2002 | Dwight King-Leatham

Jim March is a self-described "gun nut," frustrated because the Contra Costa County Sheriff's office won't give him a concealed-weapons permit.

The towering redhead from Pittsburg has taken his beef with the sheriff over the permit to federal court, saying county Sheriff Warren Rupf and a few police chiefs in 2000 violated his constitutional rights.

You are the one dreaming here aggie. -- Evidenced by your last several posts. -- You can't refute what I say. You are simply denying reality.

This is another of the many, many reasons I abandoned CA years ago. The abuse of the CCW permit process is outrageous and absurd.

And there's lots of pressure to not issue permits. One of my best friends, who knows me very well, is a chief of police. He wouldn't even initiate the paperwork to get me a permit when I was unfortunate enough to still live in CA, explaining the unbearable political heat he gets for any CCW permit application.

So now I live in a "shall issue" state; got my CCW the first month I was here.

Screw California. It truly is the land of fruits and nuts. If I didn't have relatives there, I'd never see it again, and happily.

Now, let's see how long it takes Joe Hadenuf to hit this thread and tell us all, once again, how magnificent California is. Feh.

We were saying 'dork' in the early fifties. Perhaps before.

You have this really quaint idea that you know something new. -- Lose it, -- you'll never be more than an unoriginal dork.

I collect strange sayings from all the liars around here. -- Along with some excellent posts or comments from those I admire.

They come in handy quite often.

But notice how many of the real weirdos, the biggest liars, --- are no longer posting. -- Tell you anything, aggie?

Thank God I live in Kern County. You can't be elected sherrif here if you are not liberal with issuing permits. You have to have a reason, but I don't think they look too closely at your reason for needing the CCW. Mine took 2 months and $156. (plus a training class).

I feel blessed living in Boise County (Boise is in Ada county) in Idaho. My CCW took one month and $50. As a vet, no training class necessary.

No one on this thread was attacking the fringe ideologue party. You should have addressed your scorn to he who so richly deserves it: tpaine. While the Spartacist League wants to see the working class armed, conservatives don't call them 'allies' on that account.

The Republicans can have all the libertarian (small l, the LP doesn't impress me much any more) votes that they want. Just support Constitutional government and enforce the Bill of Rights. When they don't, the libertarians tend to stay home.I, for one, am not going to vote for anybody who supports gun control or the War on Some Drugs.

As to this business with the CCW permits depending on a LEO's favor, it is the ONLY way to get legal CCW in my state of Missouri. Donate $500 or so (more in big cities) to the reelection campaign and...hey, presto...you are a special Deputy. No training or background checks or nothing.

This isn't really a problem. He should carry the gun concealed anyway.

Should (Lord forbid) the gun actually be needed, sanity dictates that whether he had a permit or not will be a moot point.

(though lately we're running short on sanity)

"Can you not even have the dignity to admit that many in the LP are drug users and that is the main reason they choose to be Libertarian?"

Do you have some polling data or something?

And I suppose there are no drug users in the RP?

And I suppose there are no drug users in the RP?

Of course, but, obviously, that is not the REASON they are.

No one on this thread was attacking the fringe ideologue [CJ speak for libertarian] party.

Exactly, Till texaggie did so at post #20.

You should have addressed your scorn to he who so richly deserves it: tpaine.

And you should have the guts to flag those you tell lies about. Whatta pitiful coward.

While the Spartacist League wants to see the working class armed, conservatives don't call them 'allies' on that account.

This is not the first time you've infered that I'm involved with some sort of a 'spartacist league', - wassat? - Never heard of them, prior to your crazy rants.
