Iraqi leader to visit Doha

IRAQ’S number two Ezzat Ibrahim will visit Qatar today, close on the heels of US Vice President Dick Cheney, to discuss US threats to attack his country, a diplomatic source said in Doha yesterday.

Ibrahim, vice president of Iraq’s ruling Revolutionary Command Council (RCC), is currently visiting the UAE in an effort to rally Arab states against a new US military offensive against Iraq at the same time that Cheney is touring the region to drum up support for an eventual strike.

The US has threatened to take military action against Iraq unless UN arms inspectors, pulled out on the eve of a December 1998 US-British bombing blitz, are allowed back in to check that Baghdad no longer has weapons of mass destruction. - AFP

I hope he plans on driving there. It sounds like he might be forgetting the No-Fly zone; wouldn't want any "accidents" to happen in the air...
