USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

I hear that! I have lots of heros, too.....besides the obvious (Daddy, spouse, etc), President Bush and VP Cheney are right up there at the top, followed closely by all the brave military men and women. I have heros right here at the Canteen, too. :)

4TheFlag, oh yes, if you have a chance to meet Freepers, do so. I've had the pleasure of meeting a few Freepers in some of my outings. I have never been disapointed. I credit Jim Robinson for having such a classy site with classy people on it.
"I gotta go pee!" ROFLOL, I forgot about that. G'nads your children are wonderful. Let me know when you run out of salsa.
Mountaineer, when Hubby and I went to go buy our digital camera I asked the sales guy, "What kind of film does this camera use." DUH!!!! Talk about feeling stupid when I found out it doesn't use film, LOL.

I am very pleased to announce that my good friend's son has joined the United States Marine Corps. He will be assigned to Camp David or the White House.
(Norb and Cobby, I'm going to FReep mail Matt's email address in case you'd like to share some thoughts or words of wisdom with him.)

Thanks for your post, mountaineer - nice reminder to remember the volunteers at home, monitarily as well. Charity begins at home, right? :) Espresso tastes great!

Billie, They have only accounted for 63%. Are they subtlely saying that the other 37% swing both ways or are 'different'? LOL! You noticed it didn't add up, too, huh? Who knows! I just copied it from LHJ! (and movie heros Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise?! Puleeze!)

Goooooood Moooooooorning USO Canteen! It's a chilly, sunny morning (36 degrees) in Central CA. Tough to get a suntan but warmer days are coming. Tough to get a suntan if you stay underwater all the time, too. :) Morning, Diver!

Gee, thanks, 4, you are so generous with your abundance. One might think you are tired of the white stuff. Yearning to see green again. Thanks, but I have lived a hunnert years without snow, I will just go on in my ignorance of the bliss it provides you.
Live To 100
This 60 year old woman was walking along 5th Avenue when she heard a voice from above "You will live to be 100."
She looked around and didn't see anyone. Again she heard "You will live to be a 100."
Boy, she thought to herself, that was the voice of God.
I've got 40 more years to live!
So off she went to the plastic surgeon. She got everything fixed from head to toe. When she left the plastic surgeons office, she got hit by a bus, died, and went up to heaven.
She said to God "You told me I would live to be 100. I was supposed to have had 40 more years. So how come you let the bus kill me?"
God said: "I didn't recognize you."
