USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

You know you're Irish if . . . You grew up believing you were lucky to have so many brothers and sisters sharing "your" bedroom.
Daily your mother intoned,"Jesus,Mary and Joseph grant me patience!"
The leprechauns came to your home in the wee hours of St. Patrick's Day morn and tinted the milk green.
Now and then Daddy "stopped" after work and Mommy slammed more than one cabinet door.
Your aunt and uncle were divorced for thirty years but it was kept a family secret.
You're on a first name basis with the souls in purgatory for your mom had you offer up all of life's trials for them.
You never throw away the rememberance cards picked up at wakes.
Potatoes, whether baked, fried, boiled, scalloped or mashed,are served at every supper.
Next to God and America there's Notre Dame.
You've spent six hours scrubbing and cleaning, polishing and cooking for Sunday's company when you hear Ma say, "Ah, t'was nothing! T'is happy we are to have your feet under our table."
Babies are prayed for, rejoiced over, cradled with love. Rosy cheeks, tiny fingers, God's greatest gift to mankind; babies are the reason 22 adults, 37 children, 15 pounds of ham, 1 priest and 16 degrees below zero gather together to celebrate a christening day.
The singing of songs with a friend close by has a way of bringing a tear to your eye. You call home to tell Ma you've met a great girl and she asks two questions. One, is she Irish? Two, is she Catholic? At least once a year the whole clan gathers together to celebrate the gift of family life.
You oversleep, all the hot water in the shower has been used up, your brother took your jacket with the car keys in the pocket, and your Mom says, "Sure'n you're lucky to be alive."
Daddy's lap was where you sat to hear the stories of a far away place called Ireland and sing the songs from "home."
You can stand at a bar carrying on a conversation, scout out the girls, toast your friend, join in the laughter, and sip a bit o' the brew, all in a wink of an eye.
The laughter and tears, the accomplishments and mistakes along life's journey are shared with friends.
When old age comes you may forget your name, or even where you are, but never the words of the Hail Mary.

You're hitting pretty close to home, Sam.
I have all my prayer cards alphabetized and stored in a shoe box. It's a great way to settle arguments over how old somebody was, etc. etc.

Hey TM, hehehehe, LET'S ROLL!

At one point we had 3 nannies and 6 baby goats. I milked the nannies and bottle fed the babies. The baby goats were a riot to take for a walk. They would run and jump and click their heels together. Their hoof prints were so tiny compared to the nannies.
One afternoon our herd got out and decided to eat our closest neighbors favorite rose bush. Boy was he mad. I got a royal chewing out.
The couple of weeks later I stopped by to let him know that I was on my way to the big city (which was an hour away)and that I planned to replace his rose bush. I needed to know the color that he wanted. His wife was laughing her head off. Seems that the rose bush had come back with a vengence and was getting ready to bloom like crazy, something that he had never been able to get it to do. Apparently the rose bush wasn't being trimmed back enough for it to bloom properly and the goats took care of the problem.

Uhhh Ohhhh...who, you better watch out now....I know there's trouble ahead. I should've accepted who's peaceful overtures but I just couldn't help myself.

I should've accepted who's peaceful overturesThey were probably a Trojan Horse Bro, you know how she is, suck you in then slam the door....
To: SAMWolf
Do we have an American St. Pat somewhere,, or a Saint in the waiting that can drive out the lawyers???
To: notpoliticallycorewrecked;BeforeISleep;lodwick;SnowBunny
.. Apparently the rose bush wasn't being trimmed back enough for it to bloom properly and the goats took care of the problem. ..That is understandable. The best lemon crop I ever had was after a doe got out and "pruned" it back severely.

AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
